Design & Construction
Designed around a semi-displacement GRP hull and superstructure she features a 24' beam and a 6'5" draft. The yacht is built over 3 decks with an internal volume of 228 GT (Gross Tonnes).
Exterior Design
Columbus features a light grey hull with a red boot stripe and a white superstructure. On deck, her generous outdoor areas are designed for relaxation and entertaining. A standout feature is the expansive sun lounge, accessed via entry doors to port, starboard, or forward from the cockpit. This area includes a bar with a refrigerator and ice maker, and a breakfast nook with a settee that seats six. A teak dining table with hydraulic hi/lo function sits at the centre, matched by a teak deck. Surrounding the space, outward-opening and sliding glass windows bring in fresh air, adding to the open feel.
Up on the flybridge, three custom-built helm chairs are joined by benches to either side, seating six to eight additional guests. The helm is fully equipped and sheltered beneath a Plexiglas top and custom canvas cover. Behind the helm is a hydraulically operated mast supporting recessed lighting, floodlights, spotlights, aft-facing cameras, stereo speakers, and communication antennas.
The cockpit is finished in teak decking and designed with functionality in mind. It includes a 946-litre (250-gallon) petrol tank with a pump for tenders, a shower, bosun locker, bait freezer, tackle storage, full controls, and a large swim step for water access.
Interior Design
The main deck saloon takes full advantage of the yacht’s 7.3m (24ft) beam, creating a space that is both expansive and elegantly zoned. It is divided into three distinct areas: a formal dining space forward, a central games table for four, and a lounge area aft, complete with an entertainment centre. The decor is refined, with polished teak, bevelled glass, and illuminated cabinetry enhanced by indirect and inset lighting.
The sky lounge provides panoramic views and a relaxing environment with a large sectional leather sofa. A television and stereo are built-in, alongside a refrigerator, icemaker, and sink. A powder room is positioned to starboard at the aft end. Separated from the saloon by electric glass doors - motion-activated or manually triggered - the sun lounge continues the open-air feel with sliding windows for natural cross-ventilation. It features further teak detailing and provides a more casual setting adjacent to the cockpit.
The formal dining area seats eight around a custom-crafted teak table with golden maple inlays. Surrounding the space, teak and bevelled glass-fronted buffets provide ample storage. A mirrored teak pass-through allows this area to be closed off when needed.
The galley, cleverly positioned to ensure privacy, is accessed either from the port main deck or via an inboard door near the starboard companionway. It is fully enclosed to minimise disruption to guests. Inside, the space features premium appliances including a Liebherr fridge/freezer, Diva 5-burner induction range, Gaggenau oven and warming oven.
The helm station is located forward of the sky lounge and fitted with two Stidd chairs, full navigation equipment and storage, including five chart drawers.
Accommodation
Columbus can host up to eight guests across four well-appointed cabins, each with its own en suite bathroom. The crew quarters accommodate up to four crew members.
The full-beam master suite is located forward. A king-size bed sits on the centreline with its headboard against the forward bulkhead. To port, a built-in vanity with mirror and stacked drawers provides a practical space, while to starboard, a settee and teak countertop with further drawers add to the storage options. Entertainment is provided via a TV and stereo. The suite includes a large cedar-lined walk-in wardrobe with a hidden safe, and the en suite bathroom features marble surfaces and a spacious shower.
The VIP stateroom offers a queen-size centreline berth flanked by large nightstands and bookshelves. An entertainment centre is integrated into the forward bulkhead, enclosed in elegant cabinetry. A generous dresser sits to starboard, adjacent to the en suite - the largest bathroom aboard.
Two additional guest staterooms sit at the end of the lower foyer. The port cabin features twin berths, while the starboard cabin has a full-size berth. Both include desks, entertainment systems, nightstands, dressers, and large hanging lockers. Their en suites include enclosed showers.
Crew accommodations include a captain’s cabin with a private head and shower, a second crew cabin with two berths, and a separate crew head and shower. A lounge area with TV, built-in dining table, and crew galley - outfitted with an oven, cooktop, microwave, large commercial-grade freezers, and washer/dryer - ensures crew comfort and functionality.
Performance & Capabilities
Powered by twin diesel MTU (8V396TE93) 1,450hp engines, motor yacht Columbus is capable of reaching a top speed of 22 knots, and comfortably cruises at 13 knots. With her 7,149 gallon fuel tanks she has a maximum range of 2,500 nautical miles at 12 knots. Her semi-displacement hull design means she offers a great balance of space and speed.
