Design & Construction

Designed around a planing GRP hull and superstructure she features a 6.4m beam and a 1.7m draft. The yacht is built over 2 decks with an internal volume of 128 GT (Gross Tonnes).

Exterior Design

At the stern, the swim platform is designed as a multifunctional waterside hub. Two large lockers are built into the transom. The port-side compartment opens fully to create a garage space large enough to house a small PWC such as a Sea-Doo Spark, or to serve as tall storage for water gear. The starboard locker provides further stowage for equipment. This beach-style area also incorporates a drop-in swim ladder receptacle, a hot-and-cold transom shower, a shore-power cable reel, and freshwater and pump-out fittings.

The aft cockpit is arranged for social gatherings. A full-beam bench and dining table seat six comfortably, or up to eight when required. Storage is integrated beneath the seating, and a TV and icemaker are fitted into the bulkhead for relaxed evenings at anchor. A cockpit ladder leads to the flybridge, though most will prefer the wide, enclosed interior stair.

Side decks run port and starboard, leading forward to a broad, flat bow. High guardrails add security, while four deep deck lockers handle lines, fenders, and Bosun’s gear. Loose sunpads fill the space, and there’s evidence of a canopy frame for optional shading. A side door from the galley opens directly onto the foredeck, simplifying provisioning. The anchoring arrangement is straightforward, with twin bollards, a windlass, chain locker hatch, foot-switch remotes, a freshwater rinse, and storage for boat hooks.

The bridge deck carries a hydraulic crane for launching the tender, with the tender itself and a liferaft stowed aft. There is space for additional toys, supported by a deep freezer and propane grill with lockers beneath. A seating group for four sits just aft of the pilothouse, with stowage under the bases. Overhead, the mast carries navigation lights and an open-array radar.

Equinox X is finished in a clean white hull and superstructure, set off by a black boot top and underwater hull paint. The look is timeless and simple, balancing function and durability with a modern line.

Interior Design

The salon is open and well lit, its beam of 6.4m (21ft) giving an easy, generous feel. To starboard, a sofa seats four or five around a coffee table, facing a built-in media unit with a large TV and the yacht’s AV rack below. Forward of this is a proper bar with stools, a drinks fridge, and dedicated glassware storage.

Opposite, the dining area features a circular table for six, with fitted cabinets and lockers close at hand. A wide sliding shade and screen system covers the aft deck doors, giving privacy and insect protection when needed. The dayhead is located forward on this deck.

The galley is laid out country-kitchen style, fitted with upgraded appliances including a full-height fridge and freezer, dual five-burner electric cooktops, microwave oven, large dual-basin sink with garbage disposal, and a full-size Miele dishwasher. Extensive lockers and drawers line the space, with a separate pantry expansion opposite. A large dinette alongside the galley doubles as an informal breakfast spot or shipboard office, comfortably seating four or five. Weathertight side doors on both sides connect this hub to the deck.

The pilothouse is fully enclosed and air-conditioned, with panoramic windows and an overhead hatch for ventilation. A captain’s chair fronts the helm, which is fitted with Caterpillar engine controls, a rudder indicator, bow-thruster joystick, searchlight controls, Simrad autopilot, Furuno navigation instruments, and Garmin multifunction displays alongside traditional analog clock and barometer. Generator start panels, bilge and fire-system controls, and breaker panels are neatly labeled and accessible. Behind the helm, a large service locker provides excellent access for upgrades and wiring.

The pilothouse doubles as a compact sky lounge, with an L-shaped settee and a sliding dining table, a pop-up TV, bar sink, and fridge. This space works as a quiet office or a casual dining spot while underway.

Accommodation

Equinox X offers comfortable accommodations for up to eight guest in a total of four cabins.

The full-beam owner’s suite sits aft, furnished with a king-size bed, a settee, and a large TV. Storage is generous, with around ten drawers, a cedar-lined walk-in wardrobe, and a second deep closet suitable for luggage. A vanity desk doubles as a workspace, and there are additional drawers beneath the bed. The en suite features a wide vanity counter, extensive mirrored cabinets, a toilet compartment, and a very large shower. The space also has scope to accommodate a bathtub or jacuzzi tub if desired.

The forward guest cabin is fitted with a queen-size berth, hanging wardrobes and drawers, and benefits from a large overhead hatch that fills the room with daylight. Its en suite has a broad shower and a counter with mirrored storage. To starboard, a twin cabin offers two single berths, a TV, and a large wardrobe. Its en suite bathroom is compact but notable for its unusually large shower. A matching twin cabin lies to port, with two single berths, oversized nightstands, and a pocket-door en suite that repeats the generous shower dimensions.

The fifth stateroom, positioned starboard, carries an extra-wide single berth and abundant storage including a nearly walk-in closet. It has its own bathroom with a wide shower and a skylight that brings in natural light.

Crew are housed in a designated two-berth cabin with its own bathroom, and one of the guest cabins can be adapted for use as a captain’s cabin if a third berth is required.
