First of Two 72m Giorgio Armani-Designed Admiral Superyachts Launched

The Italian Sea Group (TISG) has launched the first 72m yacht, known as superyacht Metamorphosis, from their exclusive Giorgio Armani-designed series.

The Admiral superyacht is the first of two custom builds created in partnership with Armani’s design house - the launch took place at TISG’s Marina di Carrara facility and the yacht is scheduled to make her global debut at the Monaco Yacht Show 2025.

Armani’s vision at sea

Metamorphosis is the result of a unique collaboration between The Italian Sea Group’s Admiral brand and Giorgio Armani S.p.A., with styling by Armani/Casa and naval architecture by TISG’s in-house Centro Stile. This five-decked, full-displacement yacht merges the bold aesthetic of Italian fashion with the technical demands of long-range cruising.

A defining feature of Metamorphosis is her exterior silhouette, which offsets sharply defined geometric volumes with soft, flowing curves. Her satin gold finish and floor-to-ceiling glazing enhance the interplay of form and light, creating a sculptural effect that shifts with every change in angle and illumination. Flush decks and concealed cap rails contribute to a clean, uninterrupted profile, while an ice-class steel hull and aluminum superstructure add strength and versatility.

Exterior highlights onboard the motor yacht include a 1,000-square-foot aft entertainment platform, alfresco lounges across multiple decks, and a helipad integrated into the upper terrace. Designed with discretion in mind, Armani insisted on subtle detailing—hidden lighting, integrated hardware, and mirrored elements that reflect his signature approach to understated luxury.

The Interiors: Where Comfort Meets Couture

Inside, the yacht reflects Armani’s refined and minimalist aesthetic. A soft, neutral palette serves as the backdrop for high-spec finishes including Black Marquinia and golden Calacatta marble, Canaletto walnut, artisanal lighting, mirrored panels, and carefully curated textiles. Floor-to-ceiling windows in the main saloon and other social spaces bring in natural light and open up wide views of the surrounding seascape.

The main saloon is configured with opposing sofas and a forward dining area that can be enclosed for privacy. Additional guest spaces include a cinema, a dedicated games lounge, and a private spa equipped with a sauna, steam room, massage facilities, and discreet meeting areas. There’s also a gym with sea views and a sun deck jacuzzi with adjacent firepit.

Cabin Configuration

The yacht accommodates 14 guests in seven staterooms and carries a professional crew of 20. The standout feature is the private owner’s deck, which includes a full-beam suite, personal lounge, bar, and dining area. This self-contained deck flows directly onto an outdoor terrace with a counter-current swimming pool, shaded relaxation spaces, and intimate spots for dining or morning coffee.

Six guest suites are positioned on the main deck, all benefitting from the yacht's gross tonnage of 1,800 GT and 12.2-meter beam, which provides generous proportions throughout.

Armani’s Vision, Admiral’s Engineering

Construction of Metamorphosis began in late 2020, with the yacht built to Lloyd’s Register standards. She is powered for transatlantic cruising, with an estimated range of 5,500 nautical miles. Though the yacht’s full technical specifications remain private, she is confirmed as an ice-class vessel capable of extended exploration.

This project marks Armani’s third foray into yacht design and is a clear statement of intent from The Italian Sea Group, which has made strategic moves to partner with leading Italian luxury brands. “This yacht represents the confluence of Giorgio Armani’s poetic elegance and The Italian Sea Group’s technical excellence,” said TISG founder and CEO Giovanni Costantino. “It is a creative journey that has turned a dream into a reality that sails the seas with grace.”

Armani himself echoed this sentiment: “The sea and design are two of my greatest passions. With this collaboration, I have extended my idea of furnishing and décor to the nautical world, where aesthetics and functionality come together in a natural and elegant style.”

Metamorphosis will not be offered for sale and remains a custom commission. Her delivery follows a change of ownership in 2024, which prompted additional refinements and upgrades prior to launch.
