YachtBuyer Boat Tests brings together full sea trials and on-water reviews, so you can see how each boat performs in real conditions. Every model here has been run and assessed on the water, with speed, handling, fuel use, and onboard comfort all examined during use at sea.
These tests are led by Jack Haines, YachtBuyer’s head boat tester, with over 15 years’ experience and more than 350 boats tested, and that experience carries through each review. Every boat is driven at speed, worked through turns, and handled in close quarters, as well as assessed for visibility, control, and how the layout functions once you are on board.
Every YachtBuyer boat test combines measured data and time on the water, so you get a clear view of how each model behaves:
- Acceleration, top speed, and cruising performance
- Fuel consumption across the rev range, as well as efficiency at cruising speeds
- Handling through turns and low-speed control in marinas
- Noise levels recorded during testing, both underway and at rest
- Helm visibility and driving position, as well as control layout
- Deck access, movement on board, and how usable the space is in practice
Each test also includes video tours, image galleries, and deck plans, so performance, layout, and design can be understood together, as well as seen in detail.
We place every tested boat alongside its direct rivals, so size, performance, and layout can be compared side by side, and buyers can assess where each model sits within the market.
YachtBuyer Boat Tests are carried out independently, with no paid reviews or manufacturer-led content, and every boat is scored using the YachtBuyer 5-Star Rating System, so performance, design, noise, and build quality are assessed on a consistent basis.
