Design & Construction
Designed around a semi-displacement GRP hull and superstructure she features a 9.6m beam and a 2.1m draft. The yacht is built over 3 decks with an internal volume of 525 GT (Gross Tonnes).
This was the second yacht built on the Majesty 155 design. She was delivered to her owners in February 2017.
Exterior Design
Atlantis, delivered in 2017 as Sehamia, is the second yacht in Gulf Craft’s Majesty 155 series, and she carries a lot of volume for 47.6m (156.2ft). The profile is tall without feeling cumbersome, helped by a long raked bow, deep hull and broad dark window bands that pull the eye along the yacht. A thin red boot stripe gives the otherwise white exterior a little definition at the waterline.
The main deck aft is broad and open, the upper deck carries another substantial guest area, and the sun deck runs for much of the yacht’s length. Forward areas are kept relatively clean, with seating and sunbathing spaces worked around the yacht’s technical and anchoring gear instead of swallowing the whole foredeck.
One of the more unusual features sits on the upper deck, where a spa pool is fed by a waterfall and surrounded by seating and sunpads. Forward of it is another outdoor dining and lounging area, so guests have several places to spread out without everything being concentrated at the stern. The sun deck adds yet more open space aft, which suits a yacht capable of carrying 16 guests.
At water level, the stern opens onto a broad beach club and swim platform, with sun loungers on either side. The garage is substantial too, and the arrangement keeps tender and toy storage out of the principal guest spaces. Two lifts connect the deck levels, an uncommon feature on a yacht under 50m and particularly useful given the amount of vertical circulation involved in this five deck layout.
Interior Design
Gulf Craft designed the original interior in house, using Anigre, Amazakoue, white oak and teak alongside marble, onyx and granite. The photographs show a warm, fairly traditional scheme, but the detailing is lighter than the heavy gloss timber interiors that were still common on large yachts of this period.
The main saloon is arranged around two sofas and four armchairs with a marble coffee table at the centre, while the dining area farther forward seats ten around a circular table. Pale timber, cream upholstery and strong lighting keep the room bright, and the more decorative elements are concentrated in the flooring, marble panels and ceiling details.
The upper saloon has a different feel, with three sofas grouped around marble topped tables and a bar running along one side. Carpet beneath the seating gives way to timber flooring around the circulation routes, which helps divide the room without using partitions. Mirrors, glass shelving and Roman blinds add detail without making the space feel overly formal.
There is quite a lot going on materially, but the larger spaces can take it. At 525GT, Atlantis has enough internal volume for the timber, stone and decorative work to sit comfortably without every surface fighting for attention.
Accommodation
Atlantis accommodates up to 16 guests in eight cabins, which is an unusually high cabin count for a yacht of this length. The owner’s suite ison the bridge deck, away from the main body of guest accommodation, and was noted for its generous proportions even when the yacht was still known as Sehamia.
The remaining cabins are distributed across the decks below, with guest accommodation separated from the principal saloons and service areas. That spread helps explain how Gulf Craft reached eight cabins without turning a single deck into a long run of small rooms.
Crew accommodation is provided for 13, giving the yacht a sizeable service team for 16 guests. Combined with the two lifts and the division of guest spaces across several decks, it is a layout built to handle a large number of people without forcing everyone through the same stairways and corridors.
Performance & Capabilities
Powered by twin diesel MTU (12V 4000 M63) 12-cylinder 2,012hp engines, motor yacht Atlantis is capable of reaching a top speed of 17 knots, and comfortably cruises at 14 knots. With her 54,730 litre fuel tanks she has a maximum range of 4,200 nautical miles at 14 knots making her well capable of long range and transatlantic voyages. Her semi-displacement hull design means she offers a great balance of space and speed.
