Design & Construction

Exterior Design

Baron B is a 26.09m (85.7ft) Falcon 86 from an era when Italian flybridge yachts aimed for strong volume and dependable performance. 

Designed by Stefano Righini, her profile still looks current thanks to a long, low visual line that runs almost unbroken from bow to stern.

A key part of that effect comes from the dark glazing. The main deck windows form a continuous band that stretches through the saloon and helm area, visually reducing the height of the superstructure and giving the yacht a much sleeker appearance than many contemporaries. Even from a distance, the eye reads the glazing as a single graphic element rather than a series of separate windows.

The hull itself follows a classic Italian planing-yacht formula. A deep-V entry at the bow cuts through head seas, while flatter aft sections provide lift and stability at speed. The bow has a long, sweeping foredeck and low trunk cabin, which keeps the profile clean while creating space for sunpads forward.

The flybridge sits low within the overall silhouette rather than towering above it. This helps preserve the yacht's balanced proportions while providing a substantial upper deck with room for dining, lounging and tender handling. A generous overhang shades the aft cockpit below, creating a sheltered outdoor dining area connected directly to the main saloon.

At the stern, wide moulded steps lead down to an integrated swim platform. The relatively low aft freeboard improves access to the water while keeping guests close to the sea at anchor. 

Built to RINA classification and maintained to MCA compliance standards, Baron B combines classic Mediterranean styling with practical cruising credentials. Her 2018 refit included a major overhaul of the ZF V-drive transmission system and exhaust arrangement, work that improved onboard comfort while preserving the yacht's original character.

Interior Design

Baron B's interior was designed by Fernando Valera, whose approach differs from the high-gloss, heavily lacquered look often found aboard Italian yachts of the early 2000s.

Rather than relying on reflective timber finishes, the design uses softer wood tones, cream leather accents and carefully planned lighting to create a warmer atmosphere. The result is a space that feels lighter and more relaxed than many yachts from the same period.

The main saloon benefits from Righini's long window band, which draws natural light deep into the interior. Large seating areas create a social space for entertaining, dining or extended cruising, while the generous beam of 6.4m (21ft) helps the yacht feel larger than many yachts of a similar length.

The layout also separates operational and guest spaces effectively. The galley sits forward and acts as a buffer between the wheelhouse and guest accommodation, allowing crew to move between service areas and side decks without disturbing guests in the main living spaces.

Accommodation

Baron B accommodates up to nine guests across four en suite cabins and carries up to four crew in separate quarters.

The layout centres around a full-beam master suite positioned amidships, where the yacht enjoys its greatest width and most stable motion. This location also places the owner furthest from guest traffic and helps reduce the effect of machinery noise and vibration.

Forward, a VIP double cabin occupies the bow, while two twin cabins sit between the master and VIP accommodation. One twin cabin includes an additional Pullman berth, allowing the yacht to accommodate a ninth guest when required.

Each cabin has its own en suite bathroom, giving guests a level of privacy normally associated with larger yachts. The separation between guest accommodation and crew areas allows service to take place independently during longer cruises or charter operations.

Performance & Capabilities

Powered by twin diesel Caterpillar (3412E TA) 1,400hp engines, motor yacht Baron B is capable of reaching a top speed of 25 knots, and comfortably cruises at 23 knots. With her 8,700 litre fuel tanks she has a maximum range of 461 nautical miles at 19 knots. Her planing hull design means she is fast and efficient as she slices through the water.
