Design & Construction
Designed around a semi-displacement GRP hull and superstructure she features a 8.02m beam and a 2.41m draft. The yacht is built over 3 decks with an internal volume of 395 GT (Gross Tonnes).
This was the fifth yacht built on the Princess 40M design. Launched in April 2015 this yacht undertook sea trials over the following months. She was completed at Princess' South Yard yard in United Kingdom where she was commissioned and delivered to her owners.
Exterior Design
The 40.16m (131.9ft) Princess 40M yacht Mahoenui, previously named Anka, has a tri-deck profile with strong horizontal lines and extensive glazing. The turquoise hull sets the tone, and it contrasts with the white superstructure and dark window bands, so the yacht stands out at anchor and underway.
Full-height windows run along the main and upper decks, and fold-out balconies extend the beam on both sides of the main saloon, adding usable deck space and opening the interior to the sea. The foredeck remains clean and uncluttered, while the aft sections focus on guest use with wide terraces and direct water access.
A large swim platform at the stern links to a beach club area, and side-opening sections increase the footprint at sea level. The flybridge adds another social deck with a Jacuzzi, bar, dining space and sunpads, so it works as the main outdoor hub. Tender storage is integrated into the aft garage, with space for a 6.2m (20.3ft) tender and two personal watercraft.
Interior Design
The interior of the Princess 40M Mahoenui is built around volume and light. The main saloon uses an open-plan layout without structural columns, so the lounge and dining areas connect in one space. Floor-to-ceiling glazing and the opening balconies bring in light and extend sightlines across the water.
Materials lean toward contrast, with dark walnut bulkheads, wenge flooring and lighter soft furnishings. Fendi furniture and custom joinery add a tailored feel without crowding the layout. An opaque glass aft bulkhead allows light from the cockpit while maintaining privacy inside.
Forward on the main deck, the owner’s suite includes a private ante-room that can serve as a study, lounge or media space. The main cabin spans the full beam, and the bathroom sits forward with twin basins, a spa bath and separate shower. Stone finishes, including Crema Marfil, define the space.
The upper deck includes a second saloon behind the wheelhouse, so there is a quieter indoor area with direct access to exterior dining. The wheelhouse itself uses a glass-heavy design with integrated controls, and the galley sits on the lower deck with a dumbwaiter linking all levels for service.
Accommodation
The Princess 40M yacht Mahoenui accommodates up to 10 guests in five cabins. The owner’s suite sits on the main deck and takes the full beam, with a private entrance space, dressing area and large en suite.
On the lower deck, two VIP cabins and two twin cabins complete the guest layout, and Pullman berths allow flexible sleeping arrangements. Each cabin has its own bathroom, so guest privacy remains intact across the yacht.
Crew accommodation supports up to seven, and the layout separates crew and guest circulation, so service runs without disruption.
Performance & Capabilities
Powered by twin diesel MTU (12V 4000 M93L) 3,509hp engines, motor yacht Mahoenui is capable of reaching a top speed of 23 knots, and comfortably cruises at 21 knots. With her 29,345 litre fuel tanks she has a maximum range of 2,000 nautical miles at 12 knots. She has been fitted with stabilizers to increase on-board comfort when the yacht is at anchor, particularly in rough waters. Her semi-displacement hull design means she offers a great balance of space and speed.
Amenities
In addition, a generous beach club offers direct access to the ocean. The yacht features a tender garage with storage for a range of toys and accessories. Air conditioning offers increased on-board comfort. The sundeck is the social hub of the yacht, with a deck jacuzzi for cooling off and an inviting spread of sunpads.
