Design & Construction

Designed around a full displacement steel hull and an aluminium superstructure she features a 12.8m beam and a 3.8m draft. The yacht is built over 4 decks with an internal volume of 2,146 GT (Gross Tonnes).

The yacht was designed and constructed in compliance with the Lloyds Register technical standards. Launched in May 2024 this yacht undertook sea trials over the following months. She was delivered to her owners in September 2024.

Exterior Design

Designed by Igor Lobanov, Platinum carries a long, layered profile that relies on sculptural form rather than sheer height for impact. The dark blue hull sits low beneath a silver and metallic-grey superstructure, while black glazing bands run almost continuously along the length of the yacht. In the photos, those horizontal strips pull the eye from bow to stern and give the 78.3m (256.9ft) yacht a stretched, lean appearance despite her 2,146GT volume.

Lobanov shaped the superstructure with flowing cutaway sections and projecting aft “tails” on each upper deck. Seen from the side, these overlapping layers create a stepped effect that visually links each deck together while softening the yacht’s scale. Around amidships, the metallic-grey sections highlight subtle sculptural twists in the structure, an effect the designer specifically amplified through contrasting paintwork rather than a flat all-white finish.

The foredeck is dominated by a touch-and-go helipad integrated into a huge teak expanse, with the owner’s private exterior terrace tucked just aft beneath the bridge structure. From above, the deck arrangement has a very clean look, with curved deck edges and recessed seating areas built into the superstructure rather than added onto it.

Glass plays a major role throughout the exterior. Long bands of glazing sit beneath the sweeping overhangs, while glass balustrades keep views open across the aft decks. The photos also show how heavily the yacht relies on curved glass around staircases and sheltered lounge areas, particularly on the upper aft terraces where wind protection was carefully engineered into the design.

Aft, Platinum opens into a stacked resort-style arrangement of terraces centred around the raised main deck pool. Twin staircases descend symmetrically toward the swim platform and beach club, creating a strong architectural focal point from astern. The pool itself measures 6m x 2.5m (19.7ft x 8.2ft) and includes a countercurrent system, while the surrounding deck spaces hold shaded lounges, dining areas and open sunbathing zones.

Higher up, the sundeck incorporates a recessed teppanyaki dining area for up to 15 guests, complete with telescopic extraction hoods hidden into the structure. Exterior air-conditioning systems are integrated across the decks to improve comfort in hot climates without disrupting the clean profile.

The mast arrangement adds another distinctive visual element. Rather than a single upright structure, Platinum uses a layered radar mast with separated antenna platforms and sculpted supports that continue the yacht’s flowing design language upward. From a distance, the black-and-silver assembly gives the upper profile a technical, almost aerospace-like finish that contrasts with the softer curves below.

Interior Design

Platinum’s interior was designed by Sinot Yacht Architecture & Design and follows a contemporary interpretation of art deco, combining a monochrome palette with rich materials and detailed surface treatments.

Materials used throughout include Sahara Noir and Lasa White marbles, bianco rhino marble, platinum-leaf inlays, textured lacewood, leather detailing, and smoked oak flooring. Lighting is a defining feature, with crystal chandeliers and bespoke sconces incorporating gold and alabaster accents. Heated marble floors are fitted in selected areas to enhance comfort.

The main saloon is arranged as both a lounge and dining space, with seating for up to 14 guests. A dedicated bar is integrated into the space, while ceiling treatments include platinum-leaf detailing. Vertical circulation is handled by a panoramic glass lift connecting all decks.

Stairwells act as visual features in their own right, finished with embossed leather wall panels featuring wave-like patterns that echo the rhythm of the sea. This motif is mirrored externally in the teak deck design, inspired by traditional Portuguese calçada paving, combining dark wenge and light teak with varied caulking widths.

Wellness spaces are distributed across the yacht. The bridge deck houses a gymnasium and massage room, while the beach club incorporates a spa area with sauna and hammam. A fold-down balcony introduces natural light and ventilation into the wellness zone.

Accommodation

M/Y Platinum accommodates up to 12 guests across a well-balanced cabin arrangement designed to prioritise space and privacy.

The master suite is located on the owner’s deck and spans approximately 100 square metres. It includes a private study, his-and-hers bathrooms, generous dressing areas, and panoramic forward views. The suite has direct access to a private exterior area that connects to the foredeck helipad.

A full-beam VIP cabin is positioned on the main deck and includes its own dressing area and en suite bathroom. An additional VIP or guest cabin is also located on the main deck, with an adjacent staff cabin to support flexible operation.

Further guest accommodation is arranged on the lower deck, with all cabins featuring en suite bathrooms and dedicated dressing rooms. The layout reflects a deliberate focus on storage and wardrobe space to support extended stays.

Crew accommodation includes 11 cabins holding up to 25 crew on the lower deck, along with a large crew mess. The captain’s cabin is located on the bridge deck and includes an office with direct access to the wheelhouse.
