Exterior design is by Alberto Mancini, with interiors from Fabio Fantolino and hull design by P.L. Ausonio Naval Architecture and Azimut's R&D department. Mancini and Fantolino are also responsible for the Fly 62, Fly 72 and Fly 82, giving the latest model a clear connection with Azimut's newest generation of flybridge yachts.
Measuring 21.47m (70ft 5in) with a 5.46m beam, the Fly 70 falls between the 20.98m Fly 68 and 22.69m Fly 72 within Azimut's Fly range. Construction uses GRP and carbon fiber, with Azimut employing its Carbon Tech approach to reduce weight higher in the yacht and support larger onboard spaces without raising the center of gravity.
Terrace or Beach Cockpit: Two Different Approaches to the Fly 70 Stern
One of the Fly 70's main decisions for buyers will be at the stern, where Azimut offers two distinct cockpit arrangements.
The Terrace Cockpit, which will be fitted to the yacht appearing at Cannes, is aimed more directly at dining and entertaining. An eight-person dining table sits beneath the overhang, while a transparent aft parapet keeps the view open toward the water. Storage beneath the deck provides space for water toys and other cruising equipment without filling the social area.
The alternative Beach Cockpit follows an idea first introduced on the Fly 62. A synchronized mechanism opens the transom while lowering the aft seating, turning the bench into a large sunpad positioned close to water level. The result is a more informal stern arrangement geared toward swimming, sunbathing and time at anchor.
Three Areas Shape the Fly 70's Upper Deck
The upper deck is arranged as another major social area and divided into three functional zones.
Forward, a sunpad sits beside the upper helm. The center of the flybridge contains a C-shaped dining area and serviced wet bar, while the open aft section has no fixed structural furniture, allowing owners to specify loose seating according to how they expect to use the yacht.
Overhead, a fiberglass hardtop provides shade across much of the space. Its vertical supports and sculpted roof continue Mancini's exterior treatment, which favors clean surfaces and a profile intended to retain a sporty character despite the motor yacht's substantial interior volume.
The arrangement also leaves the aft flybridge open to several uses, from additional lounge seating to a more flexible entertaining space, rather than prescribing one permanent layout.
Main Deck Interior Centers on Materials and Long Sightlines
Fantolino's main deck layout separates the lounge and dining areas while preserving views through the interior. Two facing sofas form the principal seating area, accompanied by brown suede, a cc-Tapis carpet and a Green River marble coffee table. Farther forward, the dining area uses a Taj Mahal marble table with seating designed by Patricia Urquiola for Andreu World.
The galley is partially screened by a sculptural divider formed from wood and brushed-bronze slats. Rather than closing the galley behind a solid partition, the treatment gives it a degree of privacy while allowing light and views to continue through the deck.
Azimut has also addressed noise around the lower-deck accommodation through the flybridge yacht's machinery arrangement. The fuel tanks are positioned between the engine room and the amidships owner's cabin, where they act as an additional acoustic barrier.
Four-Cabin Layout Targets Family Cruising
The lower deck accommodates eight guests in four cabins, with a further crew cabin providing two berths. Azimut lists three guest bathrooms plus separate crew facilities. The full-beam master suite is positioned amidships and receives much of Fantolino's more detailed material treatment. Bronze Amani marble is used alongside diagonal architectural lines and mirrored accents.
At 21.47m, the four-cabin arrangement also places the Fly 70 firmly within the owner-operated or lightly crewed flybridge market while giving families enough sleeping capacity for longer stays aboard.
Fly 70 Debuts Azimut's New Noise and Emissions Technology
Azimut's current technical specification lists three Volvo Penta IPS 1350 engines rated at 1,000hp each. Maximum speed is quoted at up to 31 knots, with cruising speed reaching 25 knots. Fuel capacity is 3,900 liters, while freshwater capacity stands at 1,000 liters.
The Fly 70 also becomes the first model to receive a new system developed under the builder's Azimut Silent Technology program.
According to Azimut, the particulate-filter arrangement uses a silencer, ceramic blocks and a nitrogen oxide catalyst. The builder claims particulate emissions are reduced by 95%, while sound pressure is lowered by more than 5 dBA.
Its purpose is most relevant at anchor, when the generator would ordinarily be running to support hotel loads. Azimut says the installation reduces both exhaust particulates and generator noise, addressing two of the less desirable aspects of spending extended periods at anchor. The system was developed through Azimut's in-house Applied Technology Laboratory, which works on technical solutions intended for use across several parts of the builder's range.
Four Azimut World Premieres Head to Cannes 2026
According to YachtBuyer MarketWatch, the largest yacht database in the world, the Fly 70 will be one of four Azimut world premieres at the Cannes Yachting Festival, held from September 8-13, 2026, at Vieux Port, Jetée Albert Edouard - Jetée Nord 004.
The Grande 44M is Azimut's new 43.6m flagship. The four-deck layout of the superyacht includes an upper deck that can be dedicated to the owner, while a Dual Mode hull, Hull Vane foil and mild-hybrid system support efficiency and quieter operation at anchor.
The Azimut Magellano 27M is the latest addition to the Magellano range, with exterior design by Jarkko Jämsén, interiors by Michele De Lucchi and AMDL CIRCLE, a main-deck loggia, a semi-planing Dual Mode hull and five guest cabins. The Azimut Seadeck 9, flagship of the Seadeck family, measures 25.6m and features a 60-square-meter, three-level Fun Island with opening side terraces, a transparent plunge pool and a large swim platform. It accommodates eight or ten guests, depending on configuration.
Together, the four premieres span Azimut's family-focused Fly Series, water-level Seadeck concept, long-range Magellano range and flagship Grande line.
