Design & Construction
Designed around a semi-displacement aluminium hull and superstructure she features a 8.7m beam and a 1.6m draft. The yacht is built over 2 decks with an internal volume of 495 GT (Gross Tonnes).
Construction started in late 2008. This was the first yacht built in the series. The yacht was designed and constructed in compliance with the Lloyds Register technical standards. She was delivered to her owners in October 2010.
Exterior Design
DB9 makes a bold impression with her sleek, champagne-hued profile and light silver grey metallic hull. Designed by Nuvolari Lenard, her dynamic lines and low-slung, aggressive stance balance grace with unmistakable power. This is a yacht that looks fast even at rest.
The exterior refit sharpened her visual impact and refreshed every guest-facing surface. All exterior upholstery was replaced for a clean, modern aesthetic that complements the metallic tones of the hull. A Naiad stabilisation system was also added, featuring four carbon electric fins to optimise comfort underway and at anchor.
DB9 offers three distinct pool areas: a remarkable 8m (26.2ft) saltwater pool on the foredeck, a Jacuzzi aft with an infinity edge and a more private Jacuzzi on the sundeck. The aft Jacuzzi includes a clever drop-pool system that maintains stability even while cruising. At night, the lighting creates a glowing atmosphere across the water’s surface.
The sun deck is more than a place to unwind. It doubles as a multifunctional space with a projector and screen for outdoor cinema nights, a compact open-air gym area, and storage for tenders. The flybridge continues the outdoor theme, with a barbecue setup, fridge, and ice maker for relaxed entertaining. Fold-out bridge wings give guests an elevated vantage point over the yacht’s length and open water beyond.
Versatile furniture setups on deck allow for easy transitions from sunbathing to socialising. Power-operated benches can be repositioned at the touch of a button, while convertible tables can shift from dining to low-table lounging. The open aft deck is also air-conditioned, extending the comfort of the interior into the fresh air.
For watersports, DB9 comes well-stocked: a 6.4m (21ft) Castoldi jet tender, two jet skis, two Seabobs, four paddleboards, an inflatable kayak, Lift E-Foil, water skis, wakeboards, and a variety of towables ensure plenty of activity at anchor.
Performance matches the styling. Twin MTU 16V engines produce up to 4,613 hp, giving DB9 a top speed of 32 knots and a cruising speed of 22 knots. At 10 knots, she offers transatlantic range, capable of covering 5,000 nautical miles. Even at a faster cruising pace of 15 to 20 knots, she maintains a range of around 3,000 nautical miles. The semi-displacement hull provides the volume needed for her luxury features without compromising speed or agility.
Below the deck, her engine room houses triple 80kW generators alongside the MTU units, all arranged for efficient maintenance access. With a fuel capacity of 117,000 litres, DB9 is equipped for extended voyages or quick coastal hops, depending on the itinerary.
Interior Design
Inside, DB9 contrasts her sporty exterior with a calm, open interior. The main salon is airy and elegant, framed by expansive side windows that pull in light and widen the space visually. A neutral palette of creams and waxed wood gives the whole area a peaceful tone, creating a welcoming social setting that doesn’t try too hard.
Interior refinements during the refit included new entertainment systems and updated fitness equipment. The standout quartz bar remains a focal point in the main lounge, lit from within and framed by a vaulted ceiling. Above, a three-tier crystal chandelier adds a soft vertical statement, drawing the eye upward and elevating the room’s grandeur.
An 82-inch television is cleverly hidden behind a mirrored panel in the forward bar lounge, appearing only when needed. The headroom here spans one and a half stories, defying the expectations of a yacht with such a sleek exterior profile.
Accommodation
DB9 sleeps 10-12 guests across five ensuite cabins. The full-beam owner’s suite is positioned amidships and has been enhanced with wooden flooring and a redesigned wardrobe space. It also features a private office area, generous walk-in closet, and a large bathroom with twin sinks, a walk-in shower, and a freestanding tub.
Two VIP queen cabins offer high ceilings and large portholes, maintaining the same light, contemporary feel seen in the salon. Their ensuite bathrooms are finished with stonework and walk-in showers, blending style with everyday practicality.
The two twin guest cabins are mirror images of each other and include Pullman berths, making them ideal for children or additional guests. Each has its own ensuite, continuing the consistent quality and layout found throughout the yacht.
Crew quarters are designed for up to 11 and are smartly arranged to preserve guest privacy.
Performance & Capabilities
Powered by twin diesel MTU (16V 4000 M93L) 4,613hp engines, motor yacht DB9 is capable of reaching a top speed of 30 knots, and comfortably cruises at 22 knots. With her 117,000 litre fuel tanks she has a maximum range of 3,400 nautical miles at 13 knots making her well capable of long range and transatlantic voyages. She has been fitted with stabilizers to increase on-board comfort when the yacht is at anchor, particularly in rough waters. Her semi-displacement hull design means she offers a great balance of space and speed.
Amenities
In addition, a swim platform provides easy access to the ocean. The yacht can house plenty of nautical toys and accessories, with a well-appointed tender garage for storing her impressive locker. Air conditioning offers increased on-board comfort. DB9 also features a deck jacuzzi for cooling off.
