Design & Construction
Designed around a semi-displacement aluminium hull and superstructure she features a 6.5m beam and a 1.5m draft. The yacht has an internal volume of 160 GT (Gross Tonnes).
This was the first yacht built on the Gentleman 24 design.
Exterior Design
Gentleman 24 / 01 carries the proportions of a mid-century motor cruiser, and that comes through the moment you look at her profile. The hull sits low on the waterline, the superstructure stays compact, and the foredeck runs long and uncluttered. She keeps to a classic navy hull colour with bright varnished timber across the bulwarks and trims, which adds to the 1960s mood that shaped the design. The boat is entirely aluminium in structure, but the exterior handrails, caprails and deck details are finished in deep, high-gloss mahogany that gives the yacht its traditional character.
The stern area sets the tone. The aft deck stays open because the tender sits out on the platform in clear view. Gentleman 24 / 01 carries a 3.5m tender styled to echo the yacht’s own lines, so the placement feels intentional rather than a compromise. A crane sits flush in the deck and lifts clear when needed. Fixed seating wraps around the aft section with dark cushions against the woodwork, and a folding table sits beneath a carbon-supported canopy. A small wind break sits ahead of the seating so guests can stay sheltered while underway or at anchor.
Wide side decks run forward behind tall mahogany bulwarks, each section picked out with stainless steel strips and deep fairleads that carry the Picchiotti crest. Boarding gates sit amidships for higher quaysides. Up at the bow, the timberwork rises again with around thirty coats of varnish across the foredeck, giving it a distinctive gloss, and shining metal capping the bow. The anchoring gear sits on show with large polished cleats and shaped fairleads. A compact ladder gives access to a raised sunpad set above the wheelhouse. It is a simple arrangement, but it suits the yacht’s shape and delivers an open view down the long foredeck without pushing the height of the superstructure.
Interior Design
The interior of Gentleman 24 / 01 keeps the same blend of mahogany and white panelling that defines the exterior. The saloon sits just inside the aft doors and feels more spacious than expected thanks to the tall headroom and a pair of light wells overhead. Duplex windows run along one side, helping the space feel bright even with the rich timberwork. A long sofa sits to starboard with a clear view out, and the cabinetry opposite houses the television. The atmosphere leans toward a relaxed club lounge, but the bright walls keep the room fresh rather than heavy.
A short rise leads to the wheelhouse. This is the yacht’s only helm, and the space feels carefully thought through. The wheel carries a classic shape, and the surrounding fittings follow the same tone. A traditional rudder angle indicator sits beside the stabiliser controls, while three Raymarine touchscreens take care of charts, engine data and sonar. The seating sits high enough for a clean view over the foredeck, and the wraparound windows give the wheelhouse a sheltered but connected feel.
Drop down the main stair and you reach the mid-level landing, where a slim run of coachroof windows continues to pull light into the centre of the boat. The galley sits to starboard. It is compact and practical, with counters on both sides, an induction hob with an oven below, a dishwasher and a fridge-freezer. Another door on the port side of the landing gives crew direct access to the decks without passing through the saloon. Forward of the galley, the dining lounge opens out with a panoramic sweep of windows. The table stands polished at the centre, the seating stays upright but supportive, and the room works as a quiet spot for meals or a second lounge thanks to a television set into the forward cabinetry.
Accommodation
Gentleman 24 / 01 sleeps six guests in three cabins on the lower deck. Two cabins sit forward, mirrored in size and layout. Each carries a double bed, marble-topped bedside tables and subtle retro touches in the lighting and switchgear. The panelling keeps the cabins bright, and although the hull windows are modest, they draw enough light to balance the darker wood. Storage runs along one side in full-height wardrobes and low cabinets, and each cabin has its own bathroom finished in marble with a separate shower lined in contrasting stone.
The third guest cabin sits a step lower and uses the space well. The double bed sits against the bulkhead with shelving along the outer side, and a pair of small portholes gives a clear view to the water. Storage sits behind the door in a tall locker, and a television sits forward for use from the bed. The bathroom is larger than expected for a cabin of this size, with a wide shower that includes a built-in seat. A door leads from this bathroom directly into the crew area, making the cabin flexible for trips with mixed use.
The crew area supports a team of three. A small mess sits at the entrance with a folding table and a television mounted overhead. The captain’s cabin sits to starboard with a single berth, good locker space and its own bathroom. Opposite is a twin bunk cabin, with each bunk having its own shelf, reading light and charging point. Another bathroom sits across from the bunks. Laundry facilities sit by the entry door, and the headroom stays consistent across the space, giving the crew a comfortable working base.
Performance & Capabilities
Powered by twin diesel MAN (D2868LE466 V8) 1,300hp engines, motor yacht Gentleman 24/ 01 is capable of reaching a top speed of 18 knots, and comfortably cruises at 16 knots. Her semi-displacement hull design means she offers a great balance of space and speed.
