Design & Construction
Designed around a displacement fiberglass hull and a frp superstructure she features a 8m beam and a 2.1m draft. The yacht is built over 3 decks with an internal volume of 295 GT (Gross Tonnes).
This was the fourth yacht built on the Majesty 120 design. She was delivered to her owners in November 2023.
Exterior Design
Optimism is a 36.6m (120ft) Gulf Craft Majesty 120 tri-deck superyacht, built in composite (FRP) and designed entirely in-house by Majesty Yachts. The profile is long and controlled, with dark horizontal glazing that runs almost the full length of the hull and superstructure, giving the Majesty 120 a low, stretched stance on the water.
From the image, the exterior relies on clean geometry rather than decoration. A sculpted sweep through the mid-hull breaks up the volume and links the decks visually, while the near-vertical bow keeps the forward profile sharp and purposeful. The glazing is continuous and deeply tinted, so the yacht reads as layered bands of glass and white structure rather than stacked decks.
Deck spaces follow a clear hierarchy. The sundeck sits under a hardtop and is arranged as a full social zone, with a jacuzzi, sun loungers, and a barbecue, so it works for long days onboard without needing to move between decks. The upper deck aft is set for dining with fixed seating and twin teak tables, while the main deck aft connects directly to the saloon through full-height glass doors.
At the stern, the Majesty 120 Optimism uses a hybrid beach club and tender garage arrangement. The electrohydraulic swim platform lowers to the water, and once the tender is deployed, the space opens into a proper sea-level lounge. Side decks are protected by high bulwarks, and the stepped superstructure creates usable outdoor areas on each level without crowding the profile.
Interior Design
The interior of the Majesty 120 Optimism, designed by Cristiano Gatto, focuses on contrast and clarity rather than excess detail. Tabu sycamore frisé and amara wood form the base palette, with marble and onyx used to frame key surfaces and transitions.
Large panoramic windows bring in consistent natural light, which softens the darker timber tones and keeps the spaces open. The main saloon uses a split flooring approach, with plush carpet in the seating area and wood with marble edging through the walkways and dining space. Two opposing sofas define the central lounge, while a concealed 55-inch (139.7cm) 4K TV keeps the layout clean when not in use.
Forward, the formal dining area seats ten and sits within the same open-plan volume, separated by material changes rather than bulkheads. The upper saloon shifts to a more relaxed layout, with an L-shaped sofa and a wet bar, and direct access to the aft deck, so the space works as an indoor-outdoor lounge.
The galley is designed for serious use, with induction cooking, multiple refrigeration units, ovens, and twin dishwashers, while a dedicated laundry with dual washer-dryers supports extended cruising and charter. Storage is built into the structure, and finishes are chosen for durability as well as appearance, which suits the yacht’s dual private and charter role.
Accommodation
The Gulf Craft Majesty 120 Optimism accommodates 12 guests across six cabins, with a layout that separates owner and guest areas while keeping movement between spaces straightforward.
The owner’s suite sits forward on the main deck and runs full beam. It includes a lounge area, walk-in wardrobe, and a marble-finished en suite bathroom. Its position gives direct access to main deck living areas while keeping distance from guest cabins.
On the lower deck, the VIP cabin includes a walk-in wardrobe and en suite, while two double cabins and two twin cabins complete the guest layout. All guest cabins are en suite, and the mix of cabin types allows flexible use for families or charter groups.
Crew accommodation is arranged aft on the lower deck in three cabins, with the captain’s cabin located on the upper deck near the bridge. This separation keeps service routes efficient and avoids overlap with guest areas. Day heads are positioned on the main and upper decks for shared use.
Crew accommodation for 7 is arranged aft on the lower deck with three cabins, while the captain’s cabin sits on the upper deck close to the bridge. This keeps operational areas separate from guest zones and supports efficient service. Day heads are located on the main and upper decks for shared use.
Performance & Capabilities
Powered by twin diesel MTU (16V2000M96L) 2,600hp engines, motor yacht Optimism is capable of reaching a top speed of 18 knots, and comfortably cruises at 11 knots. With her 21,611 litre fuel tanks she has a maximum range of 1,326 nautical miles at an economic speed of 10 knots.
