Design & Construction

Designed around a displacement GRP hull and superstructure she features a 9.16m beam and a 2.31m draft. The yacht is built over 3 decks with an internal volume of 471 GT (Gross Tonnes).

This was the third yacht built on the Class 44M design. She was completed at Benetti's Viareggio yard in Italy where she was commissioned and delivered to her owners.

Exterior Design

Paper Moon is a 44.1m (144.6ft) Benetti Class 44, with exterior design by Giorgio M. Cassetta. The profile follows a long, horizontal line, with extended glazing bands that run across the main and upper decks. This dark glazing contrasts with the white superstructure and helps reduce the visual height of the yacht.

The foredeck is set up as a guest area, built around a recessed dip pool positioned forward. Surrounding seating turns this into a usable lounge space rather than a technical deck. The bow remains clean in layout, with the pool acting as the focal point.

The sundeck spans approximately 102m² (1,098ft²), which places it among the larger open-air spaces in this size range. It is arranged with a bar, dining area and sun lounging zones, while the hardtop provides partial shade over the central section. The remaining space stays open for sun exposure or flexible use.

Aft, the decks step down across three levels, each with its own function. The main deck aft is arranged for dining and seating, while the upper deck provides a more open lounge space with clearer views. The design keeps these areas separate rather than merging them into one continuous terrace.

Across the yacht, low-profile bulwarks and large glass sections open up sightlines. This keeps the connection to the water consistent, whether on the main deck, upper deck or sundeck.

Interior Design

The interior of Paper Moon follows the same light-driven approach. Large windows run close to full height in the main saloon and upper lounge, allowing natural light to move deep into the interior.

Giorgio M. Cassetta’s layout focuses on open-plan living, with fewer fixed divisions between spaces. The main saloon combines lounge and dining areas in one volume, allowing flexible use depending on the number of guests on board.

Materials are selected to support this lighter feel. FSC-certified woods are used throughout, paired with neutral finishes that avoid visual weight. This keeps the interior consistent across all decks.

The upper deck lounge adds a second interior social space, suited to more informal use. It works as a media room or quiet retreat, separate from the main saloon below.

Accommodation

Paper Moon accommodates up to 10 guests across five cabins. The layout is centred on a full-beam owner’s suite on the main deck, which includes a private office, walk-in wardrobe and en suite bathroom. Positioning this cabin on the main deck gives it separation from the guest cabins below.

The lower deck hosts four guest cabins, configured as a mix of doubles and flexible arrangements to suit different guest groups.

Crew accommodation is for up to 9, allowing full service across all decks while maintaining separation from guest areas.

Performance & Capabilities

Powered by twin diesel MAN (V-12 1400) 12-cylinder 1,400hp engines running at 2300rpm, motor yacht Paper Moon is capable of reaching a top speed of 15 knots, and comfortably cruises at 14 knots. With her 60,000 litre fuel tanks she has a maximum range of 3,800 nautical miles at an economic speed of 11 knots.
