Delivered in 2011, Preference 19 is an award winning 119'5" expedition yacht for sale built by Tansu. Her interior and exterior has been penned in-house by the Tansu design team.

Key Features

  • Main deck full-beam owner suite
  • DJ station with party setup
  • Expansive split-level aft deck
  • Flexible interior guest arrangement

Design & Construction

Designed around a displacement steel hull and an aluminium superstructure she features a 24'3" beam and a 7'3" draft. The yacht is built over 3 decks with an internal volume of 225 GT (Gross Tonnes).

Construction started in early 2008. Launched in April 2011 this yacht undertook sea trials over the following months. She was delivered to her owners in September 2011.

Exterior Design

With her distinctive angular silhouette, upright bow, and clean, utilitarian styling, Preference 19 makes an immediate impression as a compact expedition-style yacht. At 36.4m (119.4ft), she offers outdoor space that far exceeds expectations for her size. Her hull is painted a refined light grey, subtly reinforcing her purposeful, naval-influenced look.

The aft deck is a central feature of life on board. It’s a split-level area that transforms from a working platform capable of storing a 6.5m (21.3ft) tender and sailing dinghy into an expansive beach club once the toys are in the water. Parasols housed beneath the crane arms can be deployed to provide shade, turning the space into a relaxed lounging zone. The aft opening features a sill that reinforces the feel of a robust small ship, while the heavy-duty doors are supplied by a manufacturer that also equips vessels for the US Navy.

Twin staircases positioned either side of the saloon lead up to the upper deck. This area feels like an outdoor living room, complete with a bar, daybed, sunpads, and comfortable seating. Two removable Bimini tops provide shade and flexibility depending on the occasion. There’s also a pantry and a DJ station tucked aft - a thoughtful detail for entertaining.

Further forward, a large open deck area was initially earmarked for a spa pool, though this was later removed from the design. The space instead serves as a generous open storage zone, keeping with the yacht’s pragmatic design language. Wide sidedecks and high bulwarks wrap around the vessel, offering excellent security for families and contributing to the yacht’s seaworthy, go-anywhere nature.

Wide sidedecks and high bulwarks make Preference 19 a standout for safe cruising.

Interior Design

Inside, Preference 19 takes a clean, low-key approach that echoes the laid-back informality of a beach house. Designed in collaboration with B&B Italia, the interiors follow a loft-style layout with pale oak floors and white epoxy wall finishes that are both durable and visually light. The tone is relaxed and contemporary, with a clear emphasis on comfort and usability.

The main saloon features built-in storage concealed behind sleek panelling and a television mounted to the forward bulkhead. It opens into a dining area that comfortably seats ten - an ideal option when the weather turns or a quieter setting is preferred. The atmosphere remains understated, in line with the yacht’s broader design philosophy of simplicity and efficiency.

To port, a passage leads to the galley, allowing discreet crew service between the cooking and guest areas. To starboard, steps descend to the guest cabins, while forward leads into the main deck owner's suite. The bridge deck is another standout feature. With no upper saloon above, it gains a sense of openness and function. Alongside the main helm station, there’s a seating area and desk, allowing the space to double as a casual workspace or observation lounge. The captain’s cabin sits just aft of the bridge, within easy reach.

Accommodation

Preference 19 accommodates up to 10 guests across five cabins. The full-beam owner's suite is located forward on the main deck, offering generous space, large round windows on either side, and an en suite bathroom situated in the bow. It is a calm, well-proportioned space with natural light and clean finishes.

Below deck are four additional guest cabins - two configured as doubles and two as twins, each with its own en suite. The twin cabins also feature Pullman berths for added flexibility, bringing total guest capacity to 10. While these cabins are compact, they are well laid out and finished to a high standard, with the same white epoxy panelling and oak flooring continuing throughout.

Crew quarters for 7 are positioned on the lower deck forward and are accessed via the galley on the main deck, creating a functional flow between crew and guest areas. The setup allows for efficient service without intrusion, supporting a smooth onboard experience.

Performance & Capabilities

Powered by twin diesel Caterpillar (C-32) 1,300hp engines, motor yacht Preference 19 is capable of reaching a top speed of 16 knots, and comfortably cruises at 12 knots. With her 12,604 gallon fuel tanks she has a maximum range of 1,750 nautical miles at 12 knots.

The aft deck on Preference 19 is the same length as the main saloon.

Amenities

Air conditioning offers increased on-board comfort.
