  • Electronic anchoring for sensitive zones

Design & Construction

Designed around a displacement steel hull and an aluminium superstructure she features a 13.6m beam and a 3.55m draft. The yacht is built over 6 decks with an internal volume of 2,500 GT (Gross Tonnes).

The yacht was designed and constructed in compliance with the Lloyds Register technical standards.

Exterior Design

Project Orkan is an 83-metre (272ft) superyacht currently under construction at Nobiskrug in Germany. Designed across six decks, her exterior lines have been sculpted by the team at Harrison Eidsgaard to produce a clean, contemporary profile with minimal graphic interruption. The overall look is defined by sweeping white surfaces that appear to be moulded over a structural framework, giving the yacht a refined and architectural presence.

The layout places significant emphasis on outdoor enjoyment. Expansive open-air lounges and relaxation areas feature throughout the exterior decks, including a vast beach club at the stern that connects directly with the water. These outdoor areas have been conceived to flow naturally into the interior, with several spaces designed to function as indoor-outdoor environments. A touch-and-go helicopter landing pad is incorporated into the upper decks, allowing guests to arrive and depart in privacy and comfort. In keeping with Nobiskrug’s approach to long-range cruising, the yacht’s hull has been developed using advanced computational modelling to enhance performance and seakeeping.

Project Orkan is being sculpted with a calm, architectural precision that defines her striking silhouette.

Interior Design

The interior design of Project Orkan is being handled by the same studio responsible for her striking profile. Harrison Eidsgaard’s London-based team is crafting the internal spaces with the same sculptural philosophy that defines the yacht’s silhouette. Although full layout details remain under wraps, the interior will prioritise an atmosphere of relaxed luxury, tailored around a lifestyle of informal waterside living.

Several areas are expected to offer seamless transitions between inside and out, with large expanses of glass and open-plan spaces contributing to an airy, inviting feel. Materials and finishes are anticipated to complement the yacht’s understated exterior, with a focus on clean lines and harmonious textures. The bridge and operational spaces will be developed with advanced monitoring systems to ensure efficient onboard management and minimal energy waste.

Performance & Capabilities

Project Orkan will feature a hybrid propulsion system incorporating batteries to reduce fuel consumption and emissions. The setup includes electronic anchoring technology, which enables the yacht to maintain position without deploying physical anchors - a major advantage when cruising in ecologically sensitive areas. All systems are being developed by Nobiskrug’s in-house naval architecture and engineering teams, using precise calculation tools to optimise efficiency and minimise noise and vibration. Energy management is a key consideration throughout, with systems monitored during the design phase to keep overall consumption as low as possible.
