Spotted during our exclusive YachtBuyer pre-show Cannes walkaround, before full details of the project had been released. Mangusta had previously promised an unnamed world premiere, but the identity of the yacht remained under wraps until the show opened.

ICONA 70 Makes Its First Appearance at Cannes 2026
At 20.9m with a substantial 6.2m beam, the ICONA 70 brings Mangusta-linked design back into a size category well below the current 31.8m Mangusta 104 REV. It is not part of the Maxi Open range, however, and is being positioned under its own identity.
That identity was introduced at the prestigious Cannes Yachting Festival, where the ICONA 70 was unveiled for the first time - quite literally "out of the box" - as part of its debut presentation. The dedicated ICONA website also draws a deliberate line back to the historic Mangusta 80, presenting the new yacht as a fresh interpretation of the ideas that helped shape Mangusta’s performance-yacht reputation.

Igor Lobanov, responsible for the styling language of Mangusta's REV yachts, has designed the ICONA 70's exterior and interior, working with Overmarine Group. Hull development involved Studio Arnaboldi, while Overmarine's technical department, led by Nicola Onori, handled the engineering. The yacht is built in GRP.
Hull #1 immediately stands apart on the Cannes dock. Its pale metallic blue finish runs across heavily sculpted GRP surfaces, interrupted by a long band of dark hull glazing. The rounded bow carries narrow recessed details and an illuminated Italian tricolor motif, while anchoring equipment is concealed behind the forward structure.
Above, the enclosed glasshouse uses a curved wraparound windshield without conventional forward pillars. Large roof panels introduce further natural light, while the substantial side glazing carries some of the visual character seen on Mangusta's larger REV yachts.

Unlike the open layouts associated with Mangusta's smaller performance yachts of the past, the first ICONA 70 has glass doors closing off the main-deck interior, allowing the space to be fully air-conditioned.

The stern is one of the ICONA 70's main points of difference. Two fold-down side wings take the yacht's width beyond 9m when deployed, creating a reported 40 square meters of waterside deck space. A transformer staircase can descend directly into the water.

The arrangement preserves a side-access tender bay, sized for a jet tender of approximately 3.45m, despite the amount of leisure space aft. Lounge seating and adjustable tables occupy the open deck, while two large pods sit closer to the glasshouse. Mangusta says one contains an outdoor galley with barbecue, refrigerator and ice maker, while the other houses a DJ station and storage, supported by an audio system and adjustable LED lighting.
Forward, a separate lounge sits ahead of the windshield with seating, a large sunpad and provision for removable shade poles.

Below deck, the motor yacht is arranged with three guest cabins - a full-beam master, VIP and twin - plus separate captain's accommodation. The master has its own bathroom, while the lower-deck arrangement also provides a galley and seating area.
Headroom is notable for a yacht of this length. Mangusta quotes up to 2.85m through the central interior section and 2.10m within the guest cabins, while extensive hull windows and overhead glazing bring daylight into the lower deck.
Automotive thinking continues at the helm. Four 19-inch touchscreens sit ahead of four driving seats, with most conventional switches and push-buttons removed from view. Joystick maneuvering, dynamic positioning, forward-looking sonar and assisted docking technology are also specified.
ICONA 70 Performance: Triple Volvo Penta Engines and Up to 36 Knots
The ICONA 70 uses three Volvo Penta D13 engines with two power options. The Cannes specification board lists three 800hp engines as standard, giving a claimed 30-knot maximum speed and 25-knot cruising speed. The optional 1,000hp D13 IPS1350 installation raises those figures to approximately 36 knots and 30 knots respectively.
Range figures remain subject to final specification. The Cannes board quotes 270 and 300 nautical miles across the two configurations, while Mangusta's subsequent announcement gives around 270 nautical miles for the higher-powered version.
How Owners Can Personalize the New ICONA 70
The automotive influence is particularly clear in ICONA's customization program. At Cannes, the stand displayed miniature hull forms in a wide selection of metallic finishes alongside leather, fabric and trim samples.
The dedicated ICONA site currently presents six named exterior themes - Thetys Spirit, Heritage Green, Midnight Gem, Noble Red, Pearl White and Titanium Soul - while a further Commission program gives owners direct access to the design team for more individual specifications.
