Design & Construction
Designed around a planing GRP hull and superstructure she features a 7.1m beam and a 1.5m draft. The yacht is built over 2 decks with an internal volume of 199 GT (Gross Tonnes).
Exterior Design
The 31.8m (104.3ft) Aether belongs to the latest generation of Mangusta Maxi Open yachts, a series developed to modernise one of the most recognisable names in high-performance yachting. Rather than abandoning the long, low proportions that defined earlier Mangustas, designer Igor Lobanov reinterpreted them with cleaner surfaces, larger areas of glazing and a stronger connection between interior and exterior spaces. The result preserves the brand's unmistakable DNA while giving the yacht a fresher, more contemporary character.
From the side, Aether has the poised stance of a grand touring sports car. The elongated foredeck, exceptionally low superstructure and gently arched roofline create a profile that appears longer than its 31.8m (104.3ft) length. The flybridge sits almost completely within the roof structure, so it adds useful deck space without interrupting the flowing silhouette. Extensive bands of dark curved glass replace the broken window arrangements of earlier generations, visually stretching the yacht while reducing the apparent height of the superstructure.
The stern continues the automotive influence. A sculpted ducktail-style transom conceals the tender garage within the sweeping bodywork, keeping the aft profile clean while preserving valuable storage space. Crisp detailing around the air intakes and hull openings adds definition without cluttering the design, and the broad cockpit flows naturally onto the bathing platform to strengthen the link with the sea.
Aether also reflects a wider shift in the Maxi Open concept. Previous generations placed greater emphasis on enclosed saloons and pure speed, while the 104 REV introduces far larger sliding glass panels and an aft cockpit that opens almost completely to the interior. The result is a yacht that retains Mangusta's sporting character but feels much more open and sociable during life at anchor.
Accommodation
Aether offers accommodation for up to 10 guests in 4 suites. She is also capable of carrying up to 4 crew onboard to ensure a relaxed luxury yacht experience.
Performance & Capabilities
Powered by twin 2,600hp MTU 16V 2000 M96L engines running at 2,450rpm, Aether delivers the performance expected of a Mangusta Maxi Open, reaching a top speed of 35 knots. Her lightweight planing hull is designed to rise onto the surface of the water, reducing drag and allowing the yacht to combine high speeds with efficient cruising. With fuel capacity of 10,500 litres, she offers a maximum range of approximately 350 nautical miles.
A key part of the package is the twin Kongsberg Kamewa S63-4 waterjet propulsion system. Rather than driving conventional propellers beneath the hull, the system draws water through intake tunnels and accelerates it through steerable jets at the stern. This contributes to the yacht's shallow 1.5m (4.9ft) draft, making her well suited to destinations such as the Bahamas, Miami and the Hamptons. The waterjets also deliver crisp throttle response, highly precise manoeuvring and low vibration at speed, characteristics that have become closely associated with the Mangusta driving experience.
