Design & Construction

Designed around a fast displacement steel hull and an aluminium superstructure she features a 13.1m beam and a 3.4m draft. The yacht has an internal volume of 1,750 GT (Gross Tonnes).

Construction started in late 2026 with the keel laid under the project name 'Project Ananda'.

Exterior Design

At 72.3m (237.2ft), Project Ananda introduces a new design direction for Heesen while remaining recognisably connected to the Dutch builder's established identity. Developed with Sinot Yacht Architecture & Design, the yacht retains the sleek proportions associated with recent Heesen projects but softens them through a more organic treatment of surfaces and transitions.

The profile avoids the aggressive stance often seen on contemporary superyachts of this size. Instead, the design relies on careful proportioning, long horizontal glazing bands and a restrained superstructure arrangement to create visual balance. The result is a yacht that appears calm and composed rather than overtly dramatic.

The renderings reveal a strong emphasis on horizontal architecture. Dark glazing stretches across multiple decks, visually reducing the height of the superstructure while creating continuity from bow to stern. The hull itself remains relatively clean, with limited visual clutter and carefully integrated technical openings.

One of the most unusual elements is the midships shell door. While shell doors have become common across the superyacht market, Ananda's arrangement places guest arrival at the centre of the design brief. The boarding platform leads directly to a central elevator, transforming what is normally a crew-focused operational area into part of the owner's experience.

The aft deck arrangement reflects Sinot's focus on flow between spaces. The large pool sits within an expansive social terrace that remains visually connected to the interior lounge through floor-to-ceiling glazing. From above, the yacht's deck plan reveals a carefully structured sequence of outdoor areas rather than a collection of isolated entertainment zones.

The upper decks continue this approach. Large exterior terraces, transparent guardrails and relatively light architectural detailing maximise views while avoiding the visual bulk that can affect yachts approaching 2,000GT.

Interior Design

Project Ananda's interior architecture is built around three principles: flow, flexibility and wellbeing.

Sinot worked alongside Heesen's engineering team from an early stage, allowing interior and exterior architecture to develop together rather than as separate disciplines. This collaboration is particularly evident in the way circulation has been integrated into the layout.

The arrival sequence sets the tone. Guests enter through the midships platform and move directly into the yacht via a central glass elevator. This route provides immediate access to accommodation and private areas while maintaining separation from social spaces when desired.

The owner's deck forms the heart of the Smart Custom concept. Rather than imposing a fixed arrangement, Heesen has developed alternative configurations that allow future owners to prioritise different lifestyles. One layout focuses on a private forward-facing terrace, while another shifts emphasis towards aft-deck living and entertaining.

The owner's suite itself is conceived as an apartment-style environment rather than a traditional yacht cabin. A private office and extensive panoramic views support long periods aboard, reflecting the increasing number of owners who use yachts as seasonal residences rather than short-term holiday platforms.

Further flexibility comes from the second master suite on the bridge deck. This arrangement removes the traditional hierarchy that often exists between owner and guest accommodation while creating additional options for family use or charter operations.

Material selection also reflects the yacht's wellbeing focus. The most striking example is the use of travertine flooring around the pool terrace and adjoining lounge. By extending the same surface across interior and exterior boundaries, the design creates a stronger sense of continuity and openness than conventional deck treatments.

The 100m² (1,076ft²) spa complex takes this philosophy further. Developed with input from Heesen's human health engineering team, the space integrates wellness facilities directly into the yacht's architecture rather than treating them as standalone amenities.

Accommodation

Project Ananda accommodates up to 12 guests across six cabins and carries a crew of 17.

The accommodation arrangement prioritises quality of space and flexibility rather than maximum cabin count. Central to the layout are two master-level suites, a rare feature on a yacht of this size and one that reflects the Smart Custom philosophy underpinning the project.

The primary owner's suite occupies a prominent position with panoramic views and a dedicated private office, creating an environment closer to a private apartment than a conventional stateroom. A second master suite on the bridge deck provides comparable levels of comfort and privacy, making it well suited to multi-generational ownership or long-term guests.

Performance & Capabilities

Powered by twin diesel-electric MTU (12V4000 M65L IMO Tier III) 2,575hp engines running at 1800rpm, motor yacht Project Ananda is capable of reaching a top speed of 16 knots, and comfortably cruises at 12 knots. With her 150,000 litre fuel tanks she has a maximum range of 5,000 nautical miles at 12 knots.
