Design & Construction
Designed around a semi-displacement steel hull and an aluminium superstructure she features a 8m beam and a 2.15m draft. The yacht is built over 2 decks with an internal volume of 315 GT (Gross Tonnes).
Launched in July 2015 this yacht undertook sea trials over the following months. She was delivered to her owners in August 2015.
Exterior Design
Solis' profile is clean and quite distinctive, with a near-vertical bow, long flowing sheerline and a raised pilothouse arrangement that gives the yacht more presence than many others in this size range. Built with a steel hull and aluminium superstructure, she pairs custom Northern European construction with a layout shaped for long-distance cruising.
The exterior spaces were planned around outdoor living, so the decks feel open and highly usable without turning fussy. The aft main deck connects closely with the saloon and can shift between dining, lounging and a raised beach-club-style setup, while steps run down toward the bathing platform. A fold-down balcony off the main saloon adds another link to the water and also brings more light and air into the main deck.
Up on the sundeck, Solis has a Riviera pool, a bar and several seating zones, so the space works for dining, sunbathing and quieter use too. Part of the deck can also be cleared for exercise or yoga, and a running machine is concealed beneath the decking, which says quite a lot about the way this yacht was thought through. Retractable awnings on both the sundeck and main deck add shade without cluttering the profile.
Interior Design
The interior of Solis was also designed by Claydon Reeves, and it follows the same calm, architectural approach as the exterior. Large windows, full-height glass doors and carefully placed skylights bring in a huge amount of natural light, so the yacht feels open and easy rather than enclosed. The atmosphere leans toward a spa-like modern yacht interior, with oak, natural stone, soft carpets and a restrained palette that keeps the mood relaxed.
The main saloon opens directly to the aft deck through full-height glass doors, and the fold-down balcony extends that connection further. Forward of the saloon sits the formal dining area, which benefits from the same clean lines and soft finish palette, so the whole main deck feels joined up. The flow through the yacht was clearly a major priority, and the routes between decks and guest areas avoid awkward breaks or tight transitions.
Across the yacht, the design takes cues from nature rather than heavy decoration. Curved forms replace sharp angles, and the materials stay largely within oak, stone and soft neutral tones, so the interior feels cohesive from bow to stern. Art and decorative details were chosen to support that mood instead of overpowering it.
The raised pilothouse arrangement also helps service planning. It allows for a practical pantry and efficient crew movement, while the bridge itself has space for guest seating too, so it works as part helm and part observation lounge.
Accommodation
Solis accommodates up to eight guests in four cabins, and the arrangement is one of her strongest points. The layout includes a main deck master suite, a full-beam VIP cabin, and two twin guest cabins, so there is good balance between owner space and guest flexibility.
The main deck master sits forward and benefits from a skylight as well as large windows, which gives the cabin an unusually bright feel. The full-beam VIP adds another premium guest option, and that matters on a yacht intended for family use, because it gives two cabins a stronger sense of priority than the usual single-owner-cabin layout.
The two twin cabins add flexibility for children, friends or mixed guest groups, and together the four-cabin arrangement makes good sense for private cruising as well as occasional charter use. The owner notes around Solis also make clear that the yacht was planned with family use very much in mind.
Crew accommodation is for seven in four cabins, including a captain’s cabin and three further crew cabins.
Performance & Capabilities
Powered by twin diesel Caterpillar (C18) 671hp engines, motor yacht Solis is capable of reaching a top speed of 13 knots, and comfortably cruises at 11 knots. With her 36,000 litre fuel tanks she has a maximum range of 3,800 nautical miles at 10 knots. She has been fitted with stabilizers to increase on-board comfort when the yacht is at anchor, particularly in rough waters. Her semi-displacement hull design means she offers a great balance of space and speed.
Amenities
In addition, a generous beach club offers direct access to the ocean. Air conditioning offers increased on-board comfort. Solis also features deck jacuzzi which provides excellent views.
