The private ceremony signaled the official start of construction for the inaugural unit in the newly launched Cantiere delle Marche RAW line, a 33.5-meter (110-foot) series that reinterprets the explorer yacht ethos for active, design-conscious owners.
Designed by Giorgio M. Cassetta, the RAW 110 presents a bold, geometric profile characterized by crisp white lines and a purposeful stance. It introduces a new direction for CDM, positioned between the shipyard’s established Darwin and Flexplorer series.
A Bold New Direction for CDM’s Explorer Philosophy
Cassetta’s approach to the RAW series draws on the studio’s experience designing yachts across a wide spectrum, from high-performance open boats to full-custom builds. For the RAW 110, the brief was to distill the essence of an explorer yacht into a form that is both rugged and refined. “RAW was an opportunity to create a powerful, honest, direct explorer,” Cassetta explained. “We wanted it to convey that commanding look an explorer needs, while also being fun and playful.”
The profile of the explorer yacht is defined by a balanced superstructure and long, low bulwarks, ensuring uninterrupted sightlines to the sea. Exterior decks are designed for social, all-weather use, with a large aft cockpit envisioned as the main gathering space. Floor-to-ceiling glass doors convert this area into a protected veranda for year-round enjoyment, while the open-plan layout connects the cockpit, saloon, and beach area in one continuous space.
Our goal is not to impress with eye-catching features, but to create projects that stay true to their mission: ensuring comfortable and safe journeys over long distances... RAW is the pure expression of this philosophy."

A swim platform with low bulwarks features a multifunctional staircase that doubles as casual seating or storage, reinforcing the RAW 110’s emphasis on practical design. Interior renderings have not yet been revealed, but the layout will accommodate five guest cabins and three crew cabins.
Meet the Man Behind Amiga
While the RAW line was conceived as a flexible platform, the first unit - named Amiga - has been tailored to the lifestyle of its forward-thinking owner. Athletic, in his early fifties, and with a background in technology, he represents a new generation of explorer yacht owners: active, pragmatic, and drawn to meaningful design rather than excess.
In an interview shared by CDM, the owner described how his love of the sea began relatively late in life. “I wasn’t always fond of the sea,” he admitted. “It was thanks to my wife that I discovered the joys of life at sea about twenty years ago. That discovery completely changed things for me.”
I came across CDM’s Darwin Class explorer yachts and was impressed by their no-compromise design and their reputation as leaders in the field."
After starting with a vintage Ligurian gozzo and later owning a Bluegame 60 and the first Bluegame 73, his interest shifted from performance to experience. “I started caring less about speed and more about quality time with family and friends,” he explained. “I learned to appreciate long passages, peaceful swims, and water sports—but one thing was still missing: my bike.”
A passionate cyclist and former owner of a professional cycling team, he wanted his new superyacht to reflect his family’s active lifestyle while accommodating his passion for riding. “Having the bikes on board means I can explore the coastline on two wheels, even while at sea. It’s the best of both worlds,” he said.
Practical Luxury
The owner’s requests became integral to the design of the motor yacht. Among them were a large tender, generous toy storage at the bow, and a dedicated aft beach area enclosed by bulwarks to house several bicycles in a protected, easily accessible space. The layout maintains the RAW series’ signature connection between indoor and outdoor areas while maximizing livable volume across all decks.
Functionality and reliability were paramount. “After years of yachting, I knew I wanted something that could take us farther, in all seasons,” the owner said. “The Mediterranean wasn’t enough anymore. We were ready to explore beyond.”
This first hull will feature the RAW platform’s more traditional sundeck configuration, including an aft sunlounging zone, an al fresco dining area, a bar, and a forward lounge. Beneath the purposeful styling lies a robust technical platform engineered for reliability on long passages, powered by twin Caterpillar engines delivering a top speed of 13 knots.
Delivery is expected in 2027, after which Amiga will begin a new chapter under the CDM flag, one defined by exploration, endurance, and design with purpose.
CDM’s Growing Explorer Portfolio
According to YachtBuyer Market Watch, the largest yacht database in the world, Cantiere delle Marche has 13 yachts under construction or on order at the time of writing, including several Flexplorer 165 and Deep Blue 141 units.
At 49.9 meters, the Cantiere delle Marche Flexplorer 165 advances CDM’s explorer philosophy with its 5,000-nautical-mile range and versatile aft deck that shifts from tender storage to open-air entertainment. Constructed from a steel hull and aluminum superstructure, it accommodates up to 12 guests across six staterooms with nine crew.
The Cantiere delle Marche Deep Blue 141, flagship of the CdM Deep Blue line, measures 43 meters and balances expedition strength with refined styling. Recognized at the 2023 World Superyacht Awards, it offers a 5,000-nautical-mile range, five staterooms for 14 guests, and a 14-knot top speed.
Together with the newly launched Acciaio 130 Presence, these projects highlight CDM’s steady evolution as a leader in capable, long-range yachts. The RAW 110 now enters that lineage as the most compact expression of the shipyard’s explorer DNA.
