On Deck
The Pearl 63’s deck spaces are an evolution of the Pearl 62, with some clever upgrades that focus on flexible, easy-going family use. Starting at the cockpit, this area has shifted away from the usual U-shaped dining. Instead, Pearl now offers a multifunctional entertainment space with low coffee tables that fold and raise into a full dining table. They unfold to meet in the middle, switching easily from a relaxed coffee spot to a dining area.
One of the key features here is the side-folding bulwarks. When you’re at anchor, the seat cushion folds over and swings round to open up the space. It’s great for when the kids are jumping in, but it also just makes the cockpit feel that bit roomier.
Moving up to the flybridge, this is a standout social zone. There’s a well-specced wet bar with a barbecue, ice maker, drinks fridge, and one of Pearl’s now signature large cool boxes, perfect for drinks or easy-to-grab provisions. The canvas sunroof above can be opened at the touch of a button, and the flybridge helm is a full duplicate of the lower helm - everything’s mirrored so you’re fully in command whichever station you’re at.
There’s also a corner seating area on the flybridge, big enough for four or five people to sit forward-facing – a smart touch for guests who want to share the view under way. A dedicated flybridge dining table brings the total number of dining spaces on board to three, giving owners plenty of choice. At the aft end of the flybridge, owners can choose different setups – a sunbed with corner seating, corner seats on both sides, or freestanding furniture.
The foredeck is another strong zone on this boat – a quiet, tucked-away space that feels private when moored stern-to. It’s brilliant for reading, a glass of wine, or just escaping the buzz of the cockpit and flybridge. There’s a table that folds away quickly, a headrest that flips up for sunbathing, and a bimini for shade. The forward deck also incorporates storage lockers on both sides for ropes, fenders, and covers, plus a substantial fender and anchor locker. The anchor is a stainless steel Ultra anchor with a stainless steel chain as standard.
There’s also a third control station tucked into the cockpit – invaluable when mooring stern-to in the Med. The side decks are wide and safe, with side gates on both port and starboard and substantial oval stainless steel rails. Pearl consistently overbuilds these for extra reassurance.
Interior Accommodation
The Pearl 63’s interior builds on the proven 62 layout but adds some fresh styling and flexibility. The galley remains open to the cockpit, keeping the main deck feeling social and connected - a real win for family use. Opposite the galley now sits a full dining table, and further forward, the seating areas have been updated for a more modern look. The interior can be finished in a choice of Kelly Hoppen design schemes - Modern (light oak with dark fittings), Indulgence (a contemporary light and dark grey blend), or a more classic dark wood with stainless accents. It’s all pre-designed, so owners can choose the scheme that suits them.
The saloon includes a Hi-Lo TV, versatile seating that can move between the coffee table, dining table, or cockpit, and a side door at the helm for quick access to the side decks - useful, especially in cooler climates or when anchoring. The distinctive double windscreen styling lets plenty of natural light into the saloon, but there are blinds ready to pull across when the sun gets too much.
The galley itself is fully kitted out with Miele appliances, a large fridge-freezer with containment rods, a dishwasher, a waste bin, and neat pull-out corner storage units. There’s also dedicated storage for cutlery and crockery.
Pearl uses real wood veneers throughout. It’s made by mulching real timber, dyeing it, and recreating consistent grains and colours. It’s more durable and much better suited to the marine environment, with the added benefit of colour flexibility.
Owner's Cabin
The owner’s cabin has a separate entrance from the main guest accommodation – it’s set at the opposite end of the boat for maximum privacy. The space is full beam and impressively generous. With more than sufficient headroom (even for owners over 6ft), this cabin feels properly comfortable and well appointed.
The Kelly Hoppen design really shines here - from the joinery to the soft furnishings. There’s a cosy seating area for morning coffee or a spot of work, his and hers wardrobes, and a dressing table on the port side. There’s a hidden washer-dryer tucked away in this cabin, something that you'll need with 8 people on board.
The ensuite bathroom is a good size, finished to a high standard, and the whole space gives a sense of quiet retreat.
Guest Accommodation
The Pearl 63 carries four ensuite guest cabins - a key feature that sets it apart in this size and class.
There are three guest cabins forward, accessed via a separate staircase. The VIP double cabin sits right forward with an ensuite, plenty of storage, including his and hers wardrobes, and a mirror unit that conceals the TV.
On the port side, there’s a twin cabin with access to the day head, which also serves as its en-suite. The starboard cabin, also a twin, shares this head. The headroom throughout these cabins is generous - no compromises here despite the boat’s overall size.
This four-cabin layout, all with big berths and decent storage, makes the Pearl 63 a strong family cruiser and a viable option for charter. The light streaming into the accommodation deck, particularly through the signature windscreen shapes, certainly helps to keep this area bright and welcoming.
Crew Accommodation
The Pearl 63 is primarily pitched as an owner-operator boat, but there’s flexibility to specify the garage space as a crew cabin if required - particularly if setting the boat up for charter. In this configuration, a different moulding and a single access door are used to convert the space into a crew cabin.
The boat’s design – with IPS drives, joystick control, bow thruster, and Volvo’s DPS position holding system – means a couple can easily manage it themselves without needing a permanent crew. However, for those looking to run the boat commercially, the crew cabin option adds practical value.
Performance
The Pearl 63 is powered by Volvo Penta IPS 1350s at 1,000 hp each, giving a top speed of up to 35 knots. For a boat with this much accommodation and social space, that’s a quick turn of speed. The IPS pods are positioned aft of the engines, which pushes the machinery right to the back and frees up interior volume for living spaces.
The engine room is well laid out, housing the IPS drives, generator, and all the expected systems. At a fast cruise of around 24 knots, fuel burn is approximately 250 litres per hour, delivering a practical cruising range of about 250 to 300 nautical miles from the 2,700-litre fuel tank.
The Pearl 63 includes a hydraulic bathing platform, which extends and lowers to launch the tender. The garage is a big selling point - it’s sized to accommodate a Williams Minijet 280 or a Sea-Doo if you want to carry a jet ski instead. Having the tender in the garage keeps the platform clear, although the platform can carry a larger tender if needed.
Ownership Considerations
Running costs for the Pearl 63 typically fall between 8-12% percent of the yacht’s value per year, a reflection of both its performance and its technical specification. The IPS pod drives are efficient at delivering space and manoeuvrability but require more expensive servicing than shaft drives, and fuel consumption is significant at higher cruising speeds, particularly for owners who make full use of the boat’s 35-knot potential. Berthing, maintenance, insurance, and seasonal servicing form the core of the annual outlay, with the boat’s fuel usage likely to be the largest variable cost depending on how extensively it is used each season. For many, the value of the Pearl 63 lies in the balance it strikes between high-spec features, social flexibility, and owner-operated control without committing to the full cost and complexity of crewed operation.
The Princess 52 and Prestige 630 are two other yachts worth exploring in the same sector, offering alternative layouts and performance styles that may appeal to different priorities.
In Summary
The Pearl 63 is a thoughtfully upgraded evolution of the Pearl 62 - it retains everything that made the 62 such a hit while layering in more flexibility, more usable spaces, and a fresh interior style. The core appeal remains: four proper guest cabins, a garage, and versatile social zones spread across the cockpit, flybridge, and foredeck.
