The company has also appointed Scott Millar as Chief Executive Officer alongside a strengthened executive team, as it prepares to unveil a refreshed brand identity and new yacht concepts at the Cannes Yachting Festival.
Cross Ocean and Cheyne Complete Ownership Transfer
Cross Ocean Partners and Cheyne Capital have formally become Sunseeker's long-term owners and shareholders after completing the ownership process announced in April.
The two investment firms had already supported the Poole-based builder through a capital injection in November 2025 during a financial restructuring. Their move into ownership follows the collapse of a proposed acquisition by a consortium led by KCP Holdings earlier this year, leaving Cross Ocean and Cheyne to continue backing the business.
The ownership change follows a challenging period for Sunseeker, which has faced softer global demand, tariff pressures and internal restructuring while continuing investment in future models.
Scott Millar Named Permanent CEO
Millar succeeds Steve Timms, who has led the company as interim chief executive since April. Millar first worked with Sunseeker through advisory firm Teneo, helping develop the company's five-year strategic plan. He brings more than 27 years of experience leading business transformation across manufacturing, automotive and other international industries.
What attracted me most to Sunseeker was the scale of opportunity ahead. We have a clear vision, ambitious plans for growth and the full support of our shareholders to invest in the brand, our people and our products. ."
- Scott Millar
"It was important to us not to rush the appointment of a permanent CEO. We wanted it to be someone who truly cares about this brand, who has the vision, passion and experience necessary to lead Sunseeker into its next phase of growth with true stability", stated Steve Timms.
Four Senior Appointments Strengthen Leadership
Alongside Millar's appointment, Sunseeker has strengthened its leadership team with four senior hires:
-
Andy Gawthorpe - Chief Commercial Officer: Formerly Global Sales Director at Aston Martin and a senior executive at Triumph Motorcycles.
-
Ian Morgan - Chief Strategy Officer: Brings almost two decades of strategic transformation experience and helped develop Sunseeker's growth strategy.
- James Grove - Chief Information Officer: Joins from Chelsea FC and Southampton FC to lead the company's digital transformation.
- Adrian Mardell - Non-Executive Chairman: Former Jaguar Land Rover CEO with extensive automotive leadership experience.
According to Sunseeker, the appointments support an enterprise-wide transformation spanning commercial operations, product development and manufacturing.
Rebrand and New Concepts Planned for Cannes
Sunseeker plans to introduce a refreshed brand identity alongside several new yacht concepts at this year's Cannes Yachting Festival.
The announcements are expected to provide the first public indication of how the new ownership intends to develop the company's future model range, particularly within its expanding superyacht portfolio.
134 Superyacht Leads Active Development Pipeline
According to YachtBuyer MarketWatch, the world's largest yacht database, Sunseeker currently has 32 yachts either in build or on order, including the Sunseeker 94 Yacht, 95 Yacht and 100 Yacht.
Construction also continues on the first 40.5-metre Sunseeker 134 Superyacht, with hull one now progressing through outfitting ahead of its scheduled 2027 delivery. A second hull has already been sold, underlining demand for the builder's largest model to date.

Elsewhere in the range, the new Manhattan 56 made its debut earlier this year, while the forthcoming 94 Yacht represents another important addition to Sunseeker's flybridge portfolio.
With its ownership now settled, Sunseeker's attention turns to delivering its five-year growth strategy through new models, continued investment and a strengthened leadership team.
