On Deck

The 340 GT WA sits alongside the 320 in Saxdor’s line-up but introduces several distinct changes. Most obvious is the walk-around layout that gives full access from bow to stern on both sides. The wheelhouse remains compact enough to leave wide decks all the way around, unlike the 320 which extends its wheelhouse almost to the edge, limiting side-deck space.

At the stern, drop-down balconies come as standard and create a much broader deck footprint when deployed. The aft area can be configured either as an open platform suited for watersports or with a sunbed module, which adds extra comfort and usable storage beneath. A glass transom is available as an option in place of the open stern, making it more secure for children or pets without blocking the view.

There’s a carbon-fibre ski pole and a sink setup aft portside, with an optional grill alongside a manual and electric bilge pump system. Rails are thoughtfully positioned around the superstructure and moulded into the coachroof to make movement around the deck safe and get-at-able. A forward sunbathing area doubles as a seating space with a height-adjustable table that folds and drops to create a flat lounging pad. The anchor winch is recessed below deck, with a cantilevered anchor that stows flush against the bow to avoid overhang charges at marinas.

Overhead, a large electric sliding roof opens up the wheelhouse entirely, and with the aft glazing and massive side doors retracted, the space becomes remarkably open. On the coachroof sits a small mast holding the nav lights, GPS, and comms antennas, along with the ensign pole.

Interior Accommodation

The main living area is flexible and laid out for both day use and/or weekending. The starboard helm is flanked by large sliding glass doors on both sides. These can be slid independently in either direction, giving full control over ventilation and access. When the aft glazing is lowered electrically and the roof is open, the entire area becomes one large open deckhouse.

Inside, there's a dining area with a height-adjustable table. The seats are adjustable too, with hinged armrests and sliding bases to maximise comfort or space depending on the layout. A fridge is tucked beneath the seating, and subtle details like inductive charging at the helm, LED lighting strips, and soft-touch finishes give the area a more refined edge than might be expected on a sub-35ft model.

All switchgear is grouped near the helm, including controls for lights, anchor, bow thruster, and roof operation. Twin navigation screens are fitted on this boat, with the VHF below. A distribution panel, stereo controls, and heating management system sit beside the companionway steps. Scanstrut wireless charging pads and USB sockets are included.

Lighting throughout is extensive and includes discreet reading lights with red options for night use, concealed LED strips, and overhead glazing to bring natural light in during the day.

Guest Accommodation

Down forward, the main cabin provides a double berth positioned across the beam. Though headroom is limited at the foot of the bed, it’s a usable and surprisingly generous space for this size of boat. There’s a small seat to one side, with reading lights, heating outlet, and storage lockers built in. The hatch above leads to the foredeck and is accessible even with the sunbed in place.

If the aft sunbed module is selected, it includes additional sleeping space tucked beneath the deckhouse. It’s not a standing-height cabin, but it works well for kids or occasional overnight guests and adds flexibility to the boat’s accommodation plan.

Performance

Power comes from twin Mercury V8 outboards, available as either 250hp or 300hp units. Both engines weigh the same, so many buyers opt for the higher-output 300s, as fitted here. With those, the boat exceeds 50 knots at top speed, and cruises comfortably around 30 knots. Range is typical for the category, over 200 nautical miles depending on load and conditions.

The engines are controlled via a central station with integrated electronics and a tilt wheel. A bow thruster adds manoeuvrability, and robust rails at the helm station help with bracing in rougher conditions. The helm visibility is excellent thanks to a raked windscreen and thin mullions providing a nearly uninterrupted 360° view.

In Summary

The Saxdor 340 GT WA takes the core DNA of the 320 and reconfigures it for greater practicality and open-air living. With its full walk-around layout, balcony-equipped cockpit, and optional sunbed cabin, it offers a meaningful upgrades for buyers who value flexibility and day-to-night usability. Capable of high speeds with twin 300hp outboards, and comfortable enough for weekending, it delivers a lot of boat in a compact footprint.
