Design & Construction
Designed around a semi-displacement aluminium hull and superstructure she features a 31'10" beam and a 7'3" draft. The yacht has an internal volume of 709 GT (Gross Tonnes).
Construction started in late 1989. The yacht was designed and constructed in compliance with the Lloyds Register technical standards.
Exterior Design
The exterior design of Bad Girl features a raked bow that contributes to its sleek and efficient profile. The yacht's decks are made of teak, providing a durable and classic maritime aesthetic. Both the hull and the superstructure are painted white, creating a cohesive and clean appearance. The boot top is highlighted in blue, adding a subtle contrast to the predominantly white color scheme. Below the waterline, the yacht is finished in black, ensuring a practical and visually appealing look.
Bad Girl has a long, open sun deck that is sheltered at the forward end by a low windbreak made of tinted glass. At the aft end, the deck is bridged by a winged arch. The sun deck includes a helicopter platform just in front of the windbreak, with sufficient space before the superstructure slopes down towards a double bank of darkened windscreens.
Bad Girl’s profile is unique, characterized by the upper deck line that dives to meet the main deck sheerline at the bow. The main deck is designed to keep auxiliary boats out of view, with a small rigid inflatable positioned on the sunken foredeck and the rest stored at the aft end of the main deck.
Interior Design
The interior design of Bad Girl is a result of a successful collaboration between naval architect Don Shead and interior designer Luigi Sturchio. The yacht's main interior spaces are defined by their sweeping lines and innovative use of materials.
The main saloon, a central gathering space, features seating arranged in four quadrants, each centered by an elaborate octagonal coffee table from David Linley Furniture. The room extends through double glass doors to the dining deck, providing a continuous flow of space. At the forward end of the saloon, there is a bar and card table, while a Gerald Genta clock and barometer set divide the seating areas.
One of the highlights of the yacht's interior is the observation lounge located on a mezzanine level above the wheelhouse. This lounge offers wide-ranging views through its large sloping windscreens. When the electrically operated blinds are closed, the space transforms into a cinema. Seating options include a comfortable settee and a vast cushion-strewn lounger, both positioned for optimal viewing of the large TV that rises from a central cabinet.
The dining deck, situated aft of the main saloon, offers an open-air dining experience. It is equipped with built-in food coolers and ovens, allowing for extended buffet meals. The deck provides privacy, being well above the sightline from any quay astern.
The interior décor predominantly features wood, arranged in a mosaic of individual squares cut diagonally to their grain and treated with high gloss lacquer. This rich finish is complemented by select furniture items in contrasting cream and modern art pieces from the owner's collection. The woodwork, made and installed by German specialists Rincklake van Endert, is of high quality.
The main deck lobby, accessed through electrically operated smoked glass doors, leads to the various interior spaces. The gymnasium, located on the starboard side, opens aft into a teak-floored dressing room with a steam bath and shower. This area can serve as a changing room for swimming, with direct access to the deck opposite the bathing ladder.
Accommodation
Bad Girl can host a total of 12 guests within its thoughtfully designed cabins. The master suite is situated forward of the main deck lobby and offers a comprehensive suite of rooms to ensure the utmost privacy and comfort. On the starboard side, a gymnasium opens into a teak-floored dressing room equipped with a steam bath and shower. This area can also serve as a changing room for swimming, with direct access to the deck via an additional door.
Adjacent to this is the owner's study, which opens forward into a dressing room leading to a private bathroom. The bathroom is lavishly appointed with separate shower and toilet cubicles. On the port side, the lady’s walk-in wardrobe and dressing room lead into a bathroom equipped with a large spa bath. The master stateroom itself is accessed through sliding doors and features extensive storage spaces ingeniously concealed within the paneling.
Located on the lower deck, the yacht features six guest suites. One of these suites is currently used as a playroom for the owner's children but is fitted with a sofa-bed and a shower-room, allowing it to be converted into a stateroom as needed. The remaining guest suites comprise two double bedded rooms and three twin-bedded rooms, each with additional Pullman berths to accommodate extra guests such as children's friends.
She is also capable of carrying up to 14 crew onboard to ensure a relaxed luxury yacht experience. The crew accommodation is positioned forward of the guest staterooms, providing a functional and private space for the crew members. Details about the specific layout and amenities of the crew quarters are not provided, but the crew is well-accommodated to ensure smooth and efficient operation of the yacht.
