The 27.3m motor yacht Roe Shadow was delivered to her owners in 2020 by Dutch shipyard Lynx Yachts. The yacht's exteriors have been penned by Bernd Weel Design, while Franck Darnet Design has designed her interiors.

Design & Construction

Designed around a displacement steel hull and an aluminium superstructure she features a 7.1m beam and a 1.6m draft. The yacht has an internal volume of 110 GT (Gross Tonnes).

This was the sixth yacht built on the YXT 24 design. Launched in March 2020 this yacht undertook sea trials over the following months. She was delivered to her owners in July 2020.

Exterior Design

Roe Shadow is based on the Lynx YXT 24 Evolution platform, and the design puts function at the centre, so the profile reads clean, upright and purposeful. The wheelhouse sits forward and the open working deck runs aft, which frees up a 75 sq m (807 sq ft) area for tenders, toys and equipment.

The deck is laid out for flexibility, with anchor points set across the surface so gear can shift and secure as needed, and a crane positioned to handle everything from jet skis to a Land Rover Defender 110. At the stern, the layout opens into a beach club zone, helped by an Opacmare transformer platform that extends the usable space at the water’s edge. Steps built into the stern hatch form tiered seating, so guests can sit and watch water sports unfold behind the yacht.

Exterior lines come from Bernd Weel, working with Diana Yacht Design on naval architecture, and the key visual cue is the dipped sheerline that rises again toward the wheelhouse, forming what the designer calls a cradle around the deck cargo. Black detailing around air intakes, the crane and deck fittings breaks up the white hull, while the wide beam and full-width staircase add weight to the stance. Teak decking replaces standard composite, so the finish underfoot has a warmer tone across the working deck.

Up top, the bridge uses wraparound glazing for clear sightlines, and the upper structure stays compact so the open deck remains the focus. A basketball hoop mounted above the wheelhouse adds a practical detail, and it shows how this deck space is set up for use as well as storage.

Interior Design

Inside, Roe Shadow follows the same brief as the exterior and supports an active lifestyle, while the finish aligns with the owner’s main yacht. The interior comes from Darnet Design, and it carries over walnut veneer, grey flooring and muted fabrics from the owner’s WallyAce.

The layout is compact and practical, with a galley, pantry and provision stores grouped together for efficient service, and with direct links to the crew areas forward. Materials stay consistent throughout, and details such as bevelled counter edges and carbon fibre elements echo the styling found on the main yacht.

A steam room and shower sit just inside from the deck, so crew or guests can move straight from water sports into a washdown and recovery space, while keeping wet traffic contained to one area.

Accommodation

Accommodation on Roe Shadow comprises a twin guest cabin with a Pullman berth, close to the main activity zones, so it suits visiting friends or sports coaches.

Crew are housed forward in two twin en suite cabins, positioned with direct access to the galley and service areas, and this keeps operations tight and efficient.

Performance & Capabilities

Powered by twin diesel MAN (D2868 LE425) 788hp engines, motor yacht Roe Shadow is capable of reaching a top speed of 13 knots, and comfortably cruises at 12 knots. She has a maximum range of 1,400 nautical miles at 10 knots.

Amenities

A gym with all the latest equipment allows her guests to keep their workout routines while at sea. For the ultimate relaxation experience, the yacht plays host to a luxury spa. In addition, a beach club allows for easy access to the water and allows those on board to easily unwind.
