New Palm Beach GT50 RS Boat Unveiled With 50-Knot Top Speed and Luxury Interior

Palm Beach Motor Yachts has unveiled the first Palm Beach GT50 RS, introducing a new high-performance outboard model that marks the latest expansion of the builder's GT RS series.

Developed from a client commission, the 50-foot yacht has been designed as a fast and capable commuter for coastal cruising, with the first hull expected to operate between Connecticut and Long Island.

The unveiling also signals Palm Beach Motor Yachts' move into a segment traditionally dominated by center consoles and sport boats, bringing the company's established focus on craftsmanship and engineering to a high-speed outboard platform.

Entering the High-Speed Outboard Arena

While Palm Beach Motor Yachts is best known for its inboard-powered luxury cruiser boats, the GT50 RS introduces a different approach.

Power comes from four Mercury Racing 500R V8 outboards producing a combined 2,000hp, giving the yacht a reported top speed of 50 knots. According to the builder, the model has been developed to deliver the pace and excitement associated with performance outboard boats while retaining the comfort and refinement expected from a Palm Beach yacht.

The GT50 RS was born from a client’s vision of a stylish, high-speed commuter for an experienced yachtsman."

Large opening side windows and an opening sunroof create an open-air helm experience, while the salon can be fully enclosed and air-conditioned for longer passages or poor weather conditions. The concept was developed around the needs of an experienced owner seeking a stylish and capable boat for regular coastal commuting.

A Refined Interior With Sporting Influences

Rather than prioritizing outright performance at the expense of onboard comfort, the GT50 RS has been configured with extended cruising and entertaining in mind.

The cockpit, salon, galley and accommodation areas have been arranged to create a continuous social space, while the interior of the yacht introduces contemporary materials more commonly associated with luxury automotive design. Carbon fiber detailing, Alcantara finishes and precision-crafted surfaces sit alongside the brand's signature high-gloss teak joinery.

Accommodation is centered around a forward owner's cabin fitted with a king-size berth, a feature rarely seen on yachts in this performance category.

Engineered for High-Speed Cruising

At the heart of the GT50 RS is Palm Beach Motor Yachts' proprietary V-Warp technology, a design and construction philosophy that has become a defining feature across the builder's range.

The motor yacht uses lightweight carbon fiber, E-glass and vinylester construction together with a fully infused monocoque structure. The result is a lightweight yet rigid platform intended to support sustained high-speed operation while maintaining stability and efficiency.

The use of advanced composites and weight-saving construction techniques draws on founder Mark Richards' background in competitive ocean racing, an influence that continues to shape the brand's approach to yacht design.

A Three-Model Performance Family

According to YachtBuyer MarketWatch, the world's largest yacht database, the GT50 RS becomes the newest member of Palm Beach Motor Yachts' growing GT RS lineup, with larger GT60 RS and GT70 RS.

Positioned above the new GT50 RS, the GT60 RS measures 20.63m (67ft 8in) and is designed around four Mercury Verado V12 600hp outboards. The model features two ensuite staterooms, expansive entertaining areas and a layout focused on long-range coastal cruising while maintaining the high-speed characteristics expected of the RS series.

At the top of the range sits the GT70 RS, a 24m (79ft) flagship powered by triple Volvo Penta IPS 1350 engines. Developed as an offshore performance yacht, the GT70 RS pairs Palm Beach's lightweight construction philosophy with a larger cruising platform capable of extended passages and owner-operated adventures.

Together, the three models illustrate Palm Beach Motor Yachts' continued investment in performance-focused yachts while expanding the appeal of the GT series to owners seeking higher speeds, greater flexibility and modern propulsion solutions.
