On Deck

Boarding begins with a wide and sturdy passerelle that incorporates a retractable stair system at the aft. Baglietto has moved well beyond traditional straight platforms with a  design-led approach. The transom forms part of a tiered beach club arrangement unique to the T52, with fold-down sections and two cushioned sun pads providing space for relaxation beside the water. It’s a large area, suitable for toy storage, and fitted with mooring gear including capstans and bollards.

Another standout feature is the convertible aft deck pool. It sinks into the deck when in use, creating a recessed swimming space, but can be raised to flush level, completely disguising the pool. Protective extensions can be added to separate the area if needed.

Further up, the aft cockpit features configurable loose furniture, sheltered by glass inserts in the structure that cut wind exposure while preserving views. Integrated indirect lighting in the uprights adds a refined nighttime atmosphere.

Forward, the bow is vast and highly social - designed with charter use in mind. Seating for over 20 guests is possible, and the layout supports full-scale gatherings or DJ-led events. Tables and sun loungers are paired with a concealed carbon fiber crane that slots into a forward receptacle to launch the jet skis housed up here. The anchor setup includes two large windlasses and oversized pocket anchors. Flip-out wing stations on both sides allow crew to stand safely and observe chain drop or retrieval.

A forward mast with retractable lighting is installed in compliance with maritime regulations for vessels over 50 meters (164ft), ensuring proper visibility under way. Technical spaces here include large storage compartments, the emergency generator, and access to emergency systems.

The sun deck is one of the most frequently used spots aboard. At over 70m² (753.5 sqft), it includes expansive sunpads, a full bar with sink, ice maker, drinks fridge, and protected visibility through thickened glass balustrades. Loose and fixed furniture surrounds a dining table that can seat 8-12 people. An overhead TV, quick-connect deck shower, and a grill support all-day use.

The bridge deck offers yet another outdoor lounge area with loose furniture for flexibility, and an additional entertainment bar equipped with sink, drinks fridge, and ice maker. Honeycomb-pattern metalwork and navy blue accents give the space a distinctive Baglietto touch.

Interior Accommodation

Entering from the aft deck, guests are welcomed by a full bar that services both interior and exterior areas. The main saloon is designed with large, unbroken windows framed by indirect lighting, keeping furniture low and centralized to keep the views open. A concealed drop-down TV is installed overhead, positioned to avoid disrupting circulation. Warm, earthy tones dominate the interior palette - rusts, yellows, neutrals - accented by curated art pieces that appear even in secondary spaces like day heads.

Opposite the saloon lies a comfortable office with a sitting area and large TV, intended as a private retreat or informal meeting space. The forward area includes a large formal dining zone, part of the Sky Lounge, with sliding doors on three sides for indoor-outdoor flexibility. This space is also equipped with a drop-down television and extensive glazing, creating a protected area that still feels airy and connected to the outside.

The galley is a full commercial-grade installation, featuring two dishwashers, a professional combi oven, pizza oven, induction hob, multiple sinks, upper storage, and both filtered and standard water taps. A wide internal window preserves visibility and allows easy crew communication. A pantry sits adjacent to the galley and includes a crew mess and additional access to service areas.

Aft of the engine room lies a fully equipped gym with weights, equipment, and a dedicated head. Though it lacks a shower, the gym is generously sized and directly beneath the pool deck.

Owner's Cabin

Positioned forward on the main deck, the owner's suite includes a king-size bed with a sculptural sun and moon design feature behind the headboard. Large windows framed in polished stainless steel enhance the sense of space and light. Loose furniture creates a flexible lounge area, complemented by open shelving and a large built-in television. A walk-in closet with indirect lighting and stainless framing leads into the ensuite.

The ensuite includes a dual vanity, excellent lighting, generous storage, and two separate toilet areas. A large shower enclosure includes a steam function and bench seating, with brushed brass fittings throughout for a refined finish. There is also a dedicated makeup area with seating.

Guest Accommodation

Below deck, the starboard and port aft cabins each feature king-size beds, abundant indirect lighting, artificial skylights, built-in makeup desks, large TVs, open shelving, and generous wardrobe space. Pocket doors optimize cabin space. The ensuite bathrooms have rain showers, brushed brass fixtures, and curated artwork.

Forward on both sides are additional cabins with the same layout, including Pullman berths for added flexibility. Again, details include large TVs, seating or makeup areas, and hanging lockers. Bathrooms here mirror the style and layout of the aft guest heads.

A twin cabin is also located to port with two single beds and a Pullman. Brightness is enhanced by artificial skylights and spot lighting aimed at the onboard artwork. Each cabin is equipped with an iPad control system for lighting and AV.

Crew Accommodation

A steward's entrance connects directly to the crew area. The crew mess seats 6-8 comfortably and is fitted with a microwave, coffee machine, sink, and organized storage for glassware and crockery.

Walk-in fridge and freezer compartments offer substantial cold storage. A professional-grade laundry area includes two washers, two dryers, ample storage, and a deep sink for hand-washing garments.

Crew cabins include an engineer’s cabin with locking storage, private ensuite, and what is likely the largest crew shower on board and a captain’s cabin, located off the bridge.

Performance

The engine room is entered via a compact staircase that also provides side access. It includes a control room with watertight bulkhead, electrical panels, generator control, and boat management systems. Switchgear is clearly labeled and laid out with American and European voltage support (120V and 240V), making the yacht suitable for US charter clients.

Powered by twin diesel Caterpillar (C32) 1,470hp engines, motor yacht Akula is capable of reaching a top speed of 16 knots, and comfortably cruises at 12 knots. With her 70,000 litre fuel tanks she has a maximum range of 4,500 nautical miles at 11 knots.

The engine bay features shore power converters, a black and grey water treatment plant, oversized exhaust systems with burn-off filtration for clean emissions, and two main generators with excellent servicing access. The entire space is air-conditioned, making it viable as a workout zone when needed.

Watermakers, fresh water pumps, air conditioning systems, and fire suppression gear are located to port, along with bilge pumps and technical equipment. An emergency escape ladder connects to the starboard side deck. Storage is extensive, with portable toolboxes on rollers for ease of access beneath the engines.

In Summary

Akula, the 2024 Baglietto T52, is a 52-meter charter-ready superyacht that brings clever engineering, standout guest spaces, and curated design together in a highly flexible layout.  The crew areas are properly thought through, the galley feels built for real service, and the sun deck has already become the most popular spot on all trips. This is a yacht where the practical and the personal sit side by side.
