On Deck

The Riviera 4600 greets you with a hydraulic swim platform at the stern, solid enough to handle 300kg for your tender or a full kit of water toys. There’s a clever emergency swim ladder stashed in the platform’s cavity, so you’re never caught out if someone forgets to deploy the main ladder. Instead of the usual cramped tender garage, you get a really deep storage space - big enough for a fully inflated SUP, a kayak, or even a couple of sea bobs. Owners who usually end up towing their tenders will appreciate this kind of setup.

The transom features an illuminated sign, which gives a little super yacht flavor, while the Platinum Edition’s white and silver-grey hull, topped off with a sharp-looking spoiler and full suite of electronics, really looks the part. The side decks are safe and practical, with sturdy rails and deck lockers finished properly, including shallow ones for dock lines that all drain overboard.

Up on the foredeck, everything is organized and easy to use. The windlass is sized for the boat and paired with a stainless ultra anchor. You get a deep chain locker on one side and a generous storage locker on the other, with every bit of gear having its own spot so nothing rattles when you’re underway. Both freshwater and saltwater washdowns are plumbed in, and the controls and emergency gear are stored neatly. There’s radar and a camera installed up top for extra peace of mind.

The cockpit is one of the best features for long days onboard. The enclosure has electric overhead hatches for a cross-breeze and a solid center bar that doubles as a grab rail. There’s comfortable seating for eight around a beautifully finished, extendable table lit by blue accent lights. Storage is cleverly built into the table base, and there’s provision for a massive cold box that helps keep drinks chilled and ready.

Aft on starboard, you’ll find a secondary docking station with IPS joystick and engine controls, set up to match the owner’s docking style. The cockpit is loaded with practical features too: light controls, a Fusion repeater, a solid electric grill, splash-guarded sink, ice maker, fridge, and extra storage. Engine room access is right underfoot.

Inside, the sliding doors create a good flow from cockpit to galley, opening up the whole main deck for entertaining or relaxed living. The galley is proper chef’s territory, with deep storage, a spice rack, microwave, drawer dishwasher, two-burner electric cooktop, and a set of drawers that run deep for all your gear. There’s a neat trash system and upper lockers custom-fitted for stemware - Riviera-branded, of course. The dual-use sink also doubles as a cutting board.

Starboard, you’ve got more storage, a real bar with proper bottle racks, fridge and freezer. The lounge seats eight comfortably, making it perfect for dinner or a round of sundowners. Blue accent lighting adds a modern touch. The helm area is finished with two diamond-stitched seats, a carbon fiber dash, and Alcantara trim. Storage for binoculars and logbooks sits close by, and the whole setup is well thought out.

At the helm, you’ll find Garmin remotes, wiper and ignition controls, IPS joystick, Volvo Penta display, C-Zone system for monitoring tanks and electricals, a Fusion stereo, VHF, and two 12-inch Garmin displays, plus an analog compass. The electric sunroof is large, and the manual side windows let in plenty of air.  

Owner's Cabin

Aft and amidships, the full-beam owner’s suite is a proper retreat. Headroom is generous, and there’s a settee to port - a cozy spot to read or just enjoy the view from the huge hull windows. Both sides have opening portholes, each with safety sensors to alert you if left open before you cast off. The berth is bigger than a queen at 180 cm, with a large hanging locker, loads of drawer space, and a glass partition that helps keep things feeling open and bright. There’s deep storage for valuables or a safe, plus a wall-mounted TV with a soundbar.

The ensuite is roomy, with a large countertop, offset sink, medicine cabinet, lower storage, and a well-sized shower finished in quality materials.  

Guest Accommodation

The port-side bunk cabin is practical, with two long bunks - the top one a bit wider. There’s a big hanging locker, drawers, and good lighting. The walnut joinery is well done, and there’s even provision for a washer/dryer combo without losing storage.

Forward, the VIP cabin has a large bed and impressive headroom - over 2m at the entry. Storage is impressive, with a deep, velvet-lined hanging locker and several drawers. Both VIP and bunk cabins share a head, which also acts as the day head.

The shared head is smartly finished, with a medicine cabinet, under-sink storage, and a roomy, high-quality shower. An opening porthole with a safety alarm sensor helps keep things secure. The overall vibe is soft, quiet, and refined.

Engine room access is straightforward from the cockpit, and the space is a real highlight for a boat this size. There’s a sight glass for fuel, an organized manifold, and a Kohler generator mounted forward. Almost standing headroom throughout makes for easy maintenance. The two Volvo Penta D6 IPS800s are installed with space around for access to all major systems, including the Dometic chiller, hydraulic pump, vacuum flush pumps, fire suppression, and breaker panel. Water tank and heater are right at hand. The port side loses a bit of headroom under the garage, but you can still get around. 

Performance is strong and well-balanced for cruising or longer passages. With those twin engines, the 4600 can cruise comfortably at nearly 28 knots, run up to over 32 knots at top end, and, when throttled way back, has the legs for long-range passages over 1,500 nautical miles at a gentle 4.5 knots. That’s a range that opens up a lot of coastline for the adventurous owner.

The Riviera 4600 Platinum Edition is built for owners who want to be part of the action - cooking, docking, entertaining or being hands-on in the engine room. The cockpit and galley work as one big social space, storage is everywhere you need it, and the finish feels a cut above for this size. The owner’s suite offers real comfort, while the guest cabins and flexible storage make it easy to host friends or bring family along for the ride.
