Dominator Yachts History & Heritage
Dominator Yachts dates back to the turn of the millennium, it was founded in 1999, although production didn’t begin until March 2000. The following year it launched its first-ever yacht the Dominator 65.
The company itself is headquartered in Austria, but builds its bespoke models in Fano on the Adriatic Coast of Italy. This strong Italian link comes out of the fact its founder was Giandato Sigismondi, who played a big part in the development of the yachts built by fellow Italian yard Mochi Craft in the 1990s. When Mochi Craft became part of the Ferretti Group in 1998, Sigismondi put together a team including former Formula One driver Peter Zuber, and created Dominator Yachts.
In 2003 Dominator moved into its current production headquarters in Fano and began building progressively bigger boats, including the Dominator 620 in 2006. In 2010 the shipyard’s largest model, 39m H was launched.
The company has continued to expand and now owns and operates four production facilities and a large complement of designers, naval architects and engineers.
