Design & Construction
Designed around a semi-displacement aluminium hull and superstructure she features a 6.4m beam and a 1.83m draft. The yacht has an internal volume of 150 GT (Gross Tonnes).
Exterior Design
The 29.3m (96ft) Broward, built in 1996, carries a classic aesthetic that still holds strong almost three decades later. At the stern, the cockpit area offers a comfortable outdoor space that leads into the saloon. Moving forward, the foredeck provides additional seating, bollards, and an anchor winch. The ship's bell and the hatch above the crew cabin are also positioned here, along with a large bosun's locker offering practical storage.
The flybridge is expansive, featuring dual wing stations for precise docking and a central helm. The deck here incorporates a wet bar with refrigeration, an ice maker, and a sink, while a grill could be added if desired. A sunbathing area with a bimini for shade sits nearby. The layout reflects a pre-hardtop design but still offers effective sun protection. The flybridge helm is paired with two wing stations, helping control while manoeuvring in tight spaces.
Aft on the upper deck, the boat deck holds the tender, powered by a 115 hp outboard, with a crane provided for easy launch and retrieval. There's also secondary access from this deck back to the aft deck.
Interior Design
Stepping inside, the saloon is a wide, inviting space with comfortable seating and classic woodwork, delivering a warm, timeless feel. Although the yacht does not feature the floor-to-ceiling windows common in newer designs, it still offers ample natural light and views.
One standout feature is the country kitchen-style galley, a hallmark of Broward’s forward-thinking at the time. It’s a spacious, family-oriented area with home-style amenities, including large fridge-freezers, a dishwasher, and even a trash compactor. The galley doubles as a relaxed social space, promoting an informal onboard atmosphere.
The helm station on the bridge is well-equipped with radar, navigation systems, depth gauges, thruster controls, and engine management systems. The captain's chair sits on a sliding base for ease of positioning. Behind the helm is an additional space that could serve as a crew mess.
Accommodation
Crown Jewel offers accommodation for up to 6 guests in 3 suites comprising an owner's cabin, 1 VIP cabin and 1 twin cabin. The owner’s cabin is a generous retreat with comfortable seating areas that invite quiet reading or relaxation. Large walk-in wardrobes with automatic lighting provide excellent storage, and the en suite arrangement is quite distinctive, with facilities mirrored on either side of the cabin. This setup includes a central bath with a glass divider, a separate shower on one side, and extensive wardrobe space throughout.
There are two additional guest cabins located on the lower deck, both en suite and well-proportioned. One of these cabins also features a Pullman berth, providing extra flexibility for sleeping arrangements. Each guest cabin is equipped with its own bath or shower, along with wardrobe space.
She is also capable of carrying up to 3 crew onboard to ensure a relaxed luxury yacht experience. The crew quarters are situated forward of the galley and include a captain’s cabin, a crew mess with extra refrigeration, a separate crew bathroom with a shower, and a laundry area. Another crew cabin is positioned in the bow.
Performance & Capabilities
Powered by twin diesel Detroit Diesel (16V92TAB) 1,450hp engines, motor yacht Crown Jewel is capable of reaching a top speed of 20 knots, and comfortably cruises at 17 knots. Her semi-displacement hull design means she offers a great balance of space and speed.
