Accommodation

We don’t normally start an interior review with the helm, but this is no normal helm station. Walking onto the bridge from the skylounge is a moment to savour. Unique and brilliant in equal measure, the design has a central helm seat set before floor-to-ceiling glass and a wraparound control pod with two screens at eye level and three above. It is the best helm station we have seen on anything under 70m. To make sure everyone can enjoy what is an awesome panoramic view, clean teak deck surrounds the helm seat, with seating set respectfully to one side.

Aft of the helm is the Captains’ cabin and then the skylounge. Enjoying almost the Oasis’ full beam, this upper lounge is both private and spectacularly open, with full-height glass creating great views and synergy with the aft deck. The main deck salon is also wrapped glass and vast, the design full of curves with two arcs of seating set within a circular lounge.

Forward on the main deck, we come to a true superyacht suite, with the cabin and a lounge-study area enjoying separate zones to port and starboard, a full-width dressing room and en suite lying forward. It is a cabin normally found on a 60m yacht and comes with the option of its own gym just before the entrance.

A central stairwell takes you below deck for the guest accommodation, with four good ensuite cabins, nominally laid out as two twins and two VIPs, but with plenty of options.

As a crew-operated yacht, a good deal of space forward below decks allows four bunked cabins, toilet and shower compartments, a mess and galley to be worked in.

On Deck

The Oasis name relates to the aft design on this 40 and the smaller 34 model, with a tiered deck that steps down to the waterline. It is a complete rethink of the traditional main deck, turning everything through 180 degrees and lowering the deck down, two hydraulic flanks folding down to create even more deck space.

If you can leave the aft deck, this yacht goes on to deliver an excellent sun and upper deck loaded with luxury. The sundeck has a hardtop covering the central area for dining, where a bar and kitchen will look after guests very well. Down a level, the upper deck, running off the skylounge, adds yet more dining and lounging. Walk forward along the raised side deck and you come to a very impressive foredeck lounge, a separate area that makes the perfect retreat when moored stern-to in port.

Amenities & Tenders

The position of the tender garage is a key factor in delivering the Oasis deck. Pushing the garage forward of the engine bay allows the aft deck to sit lower, closer to the water, for that spectacular terrace effect. The garage itself is very superyacht, opening discreetly to the side so as not to interrupt guests.

Performance & Capabilities

The Benetti comes with twin V12 MAN 1400hp engines delivering a top speed of 16 knots and that impressive 4000nm range at 12knots, largely due to a massive 45,000lt (9,899gal) fuel capacity. Given that most passages, long or short, will be at that 12-knot figure, the range is key, delivering some 300 hours of cruising on one tank at 135l/h, although in reality weather and tide will put a dent in that figure.

Created to satisfy the needs of an active and sophisticated owner who wants to live his life at sea to the full and across the board, and who has a lifestyle focused on casual elegance, Oasis 135’ is packed with solutions in which close contact with the water plays a foreground role, as is demonstrated by the spectacular beach area with infinity pool just steps from the sea. The high ceilings, the unusual layout of the onboard spaces, and the extensive use of natural light confirm and underscore the desire to enter into a symbiotic relationship with the outside world.

This ambitious project, on which Benetti has worked in partnership with UK-based firm RWD and New York design studio Bonetti/Kozerski that has designed the interiors, revolves around an onboard lifestyle in which sporting activities alternate with periods of total relaxation. Adrian Chisnell, Team Principal at RWD, describes the concept like this: “We’ve revisited the classic concept of onboard life. Today owners don’t use their boats in the same way as in the past. This yacht reflects a new more dynamic and less formal lifestyle for active, curious owners who don’t spend much time lying in the sun because they prefer to explore and enjoy the places they’ve just reached on their yacht”.

The interiors, designed by US-based firm Bonetti/Kozerski, are casual-chic in style and reveal a highly sophisticated use of materials, colour combinations and forms of decoration, all underpinned by an elegant sense of understatement.

The defining characteristic of the pilot house is that, for the first time, it has been designed as another lounge, dominated by extensive glazed surfaces so that every moment at sea can be enjoyed to the full.

On the performance front, cruising speed is expected to be 14.5 knots, with a top speed of 15 knots and a range of about 4,000 nautical miles.
