Delivered ahead of the show, the first Sirena 118 arrives in Cannes with a far more individual interior than early renderings suggested. Cor D. Rover's finished scheme uses strong color, unusual natural materials and references to historic exploration, while the owner has also made significant changes to the yacht's layout and social spaces.
36m Sirena 118 Makes World Debut at Cannes 2026
Measuring 36m overall with a 7.8m beam and with a gross tonnage of 279GT, the Sirena 118 is the largest model in Sirena Yachts' composite range and was among the larger yachts appearing at Cannes this year.
Naval architecture comes from long-standing Sirena collaborator Germán Frers, while the exterior was developed by the builder's in-house design team. Familiar Sirena features remain visible in the axe-shaped bow, rectangular hull windows and aft-leaning fashion plates, but the additional length gives the 118 a noticeably more substantial profile.
Construction uses glass fiber with carbon fiber on the upper decks, supported by resin-infusion techniques intended to reduce structural weight. Frers also focused closely on the underwater geometry. Computational fluid dynamics analysis was used during development, while the stern was shaped to avoid the need for propeller tunnels and reduce turbulence around the afterbody.
Cor D. Rover Reveals the Finished Sirena 118 Interior
The biggest revelation at Cannes is inside the yacht. Early imagery of the Sirena 118 presented a restrained interior of pale woods and neutral upholstery, but hull number one has developed into something considerably more personal.
Working closely with the owner and Sirena's interior team, Cor D. Rover based IKIGAI's design around historic exploration and the vessels, instruments and materials associated with it. References to old shipbuilding, aviation, navigational equipment and natural surfaces appear throughout without turning the yacht into a literal period-inspired interior.
One of the most distinctive details sits overhead in the main salon. Pressed leaves are enclosed within several layers of milk glass, creating a patterned ceiling that changes character as natural light passes through it. Elsewhere, decorative surfaces use peacock feathers, while seashells have been incorporated into countertops.
Color also plays a much stronger role than on many contemporary superyachts. Moss green, burgundy and mustard appear across the interior, supported by furniture sourced from several parts of the world and finishes intended to recall natural surfaces or the patina associated with older materials.
Two-Level Owner's Suite Creates a Private Waterside Retreat
IKIGAI also demonstrates one of the Sirena 118's most interesting layout options. The owner's suite occupies the forward section of the main deck and has direct access to a private foredeck terrace, separating it from the principal guest areas aft.
On this first motor yacht, a spiral staircase leads from the suite to a private lower-deck lounge and study. A fold-down sea balcony opens this lower space directly over the water, while a two-story vintage mirror runs beside the staircase. When the balcony is lowered, the mirror allows the movement of the sea below to be seen from the owner's accommodation above.
Deep green wallcoverings give the lower retreat a more enclosed character than the main-deck suite, creating a quieter area for the owner away from the yacht's larger social spaces. Accommodation extends to 12 guests across six cabins in total, including the owner's suite. Five crew are accommodated in three separate cabins.
Outdoor Spaces Run From Foredeck Terrace to Sundeck Bar
The main aft deck provides the first large guest area on boarding, with lounge seating positioned outside the salon. At water level, the yacht gains further space through its aft platform and drop-down sea terraces.
Forward, the owner's private terrace gives the main-deck suite its own exterior area, while the upper deck carries another lounge and a more secluded aft terrace.
IKIGAI's owner has specified a substantial dining table inside the upper lounge, giving the space a clear role for family meals.
The sundeck adds an outdoor bar beneath the carbon-fiber hardtop, with several seating and lounging areas around it. Rather than treating each deck as a single-purpose zone, the layout provides different levels of privacy throughout the day, from the larger aft spaces to the owner's own foredeck and lower-deck retreat.
Sirena 118 Performance: Twin MAN Diesels and Fast-Displacement Hull
Standard propulsion comes from twin 1,550hp MAN diesel engines. According to Sirena's latest Cannes release, the yacht has a cruising speed of 10 knots and a maximum speed of 16 knots, while an upgraded engine package can raise maximum speed to 18 knots.
The fast-displacement hull reflects the model's focus on comfortable cruising rather than outright speed, with Frers developing the underwater profile around efficiency, seakeeping and predictable behavior in more challenging conditions.
For Sirena, IKIGAI also provides the first real indication of how far owners can take the 118 platform beyond the original specification. The underlying layout remains recognizable as a Sirena 118, but the first hull's interior, private owner spaces and family-focused upper deck give it an identity shaped closely around its owner.
Its Cannes debut follows the yacht's delivery in August and marks the first time the finished Sirena 118 has been presented to the public. For visitors who previously knew the model only through plans and renderings, IKIGAI offers the clearest look yet at what Sirena's move further into the composite superyacht market means in practice.
