Design & Construction
Designed around a displacement steel hull and an aluminium superstructure she features a 20.5m beam and a 5.4m draft. The yacht has an internal volume of 10,500 GT (Gross Tonnes).
The yacht was designed and constructed in compliance with the Lloyds Register technical standards. Launched in October 2025 this yacht undertook sea trials over the following months.
Exterior Design
At 146.2m (480ft), Project Defy is among the most ambitious yachts ever built by Lürssen, and currently represents the yard’s largest active project. Constructed in steel and aluminium with a projected 10,500GT volume, she combines engineering scale with measured, contemporary form.
The profile has clean horizontal lines and a pronounced sense of proportion. A sharply flared bow and long, fine waterline give her a purposeful, balanced stance, while continuous glazing along the decks brings lightness to the vast superstructure. Above, a raised, curved arched window introduces a sculptural counterpoint to the otherwise linear geometry, forming a distinctive visual marker high on the skyline.
Viewed from the stern, the yacht’s five-tiered deck configuration steps aft in wide, symmetrical terraces. Each level offers large outdoor areas for relaxation and dining, with broad overhangs providing natural shade and protection. The design maintains a rhythm between open and enclosed spaces, balancing functionality with visual clarity.
The bow section carries subtle shaping and strength. Its fine, upright stem extends forward into a long, efficient forefoot, with soft flaring above to manage sea spray.
