Design & Construction
Designed around a semi-displacement GRP hull and superstructure she features a 24' beam and a 6'6" draft. The yacht is built over 3 decks with an internal volume of 333 GT (Gross Tonnes).
This was the twenty-fifth yacht built on the Westport 130 design.
Exterior Design
Antares, a 2008 Westport 130, features clean and efficient hull lines designed by renowned naval architect Bill Garden. Her narrow bow entry cuts through the water with minimal fuss, keeping wake disturbance low for her size and displacement - a feature honed from Garden’s years of sailing hull designs. The fine entry also shifts the crew quarters slightly aft, placing guest accommodations near the yacht’s pitch centre for added comfort.
On deck, Antares provides an extensive selection of outdoor areas. The cockpit is designed for shaded relaxation, with a built-in transom bench-style settee, an ottoman, a wet bar with a granite countertop, built-in stowage for glassware, an ice machine, and a Sub-Zero refrigerator drawer. A teak dinette table, surrounded by 10 Tucci dining chairs, offers a lovely alfresco dining setup.
The foredeck holds a cosy C-shaped settee - ideal for a quiet escape when berthed - with a central stairway leading to the sky lounge.
The sun deck, aft of the sky lounge, has a wet bar with four stools sheltered beneath a custom hardtop. Two built-in seating areas forward, each furnished with a beautiful table, provide inviting spots for dining or lounging. Adjustable chaise longues and a hot tub complete the sun deck.
Up on the flybridge, a custom hardtop and isinglass enclosure protect the forward helm area. Two curved seating areas with Corian tables flank either side, and a bar with a Whirlpool ice maker and four stools ensures refreshments are always within easy reach. A sunning area with adjustable upholstered chaise lounges invites guests to soak up the sun.
Interior Design
Mahogany finishes and marble accents dominate the décor of Antares, while near full-height windows in the main salon flood the space with natural light and frame sweeping ocean views.
The salon is accessed via a stainless-steel sliding glass door from the cockpit, with the layout designed to connect seamlessly to a formal dining area for eight guests. An L-shaped sofa with a cocktail table and additional armchairs create an inviting lounge atmosphere.
Forward of the dining area is the galley, equipped with a KitchenAid refrigerator/freezer, two Gaggenau ovens, a Viking Professional six-burner top with a ventilation system. Granite countertops add a touch of elegance throughout, paired with a laminate wood sole. A modified stew pantry, added during the same year, includes an additional sink, dishwasher and TV. A privacy door separates the galley from guest areas.
A staircase in the salon leads up to the sky lounge. Here, a bar with two leather-topped bar stools, a leather-topped L-shaped settee, a 50-inch built-in TV, and an intimate table with two chairs create a warm, relaxed environment for sunset drinks or games. A new ice machine was installed recently, and a day head was added by converting a storage closet.
The pilothouse pairs functionality with classic yacht style. A leather-covered dash, wood destroyer ship’s wheel and new Stidd captain’s chairs set the tone. Guests can relax on a raised semicircular settee while enjoying views underway. The helm station’s Intelisea vessel-monitoring system provides comprehensive oversight, while a captain’s office and communication centre support smooth operations.
Accommodation
Antares accommodates 10 guests across five staterooms, supported by a crew of five housed in three crew cabins.
The main deck owner's suite spans the full beam, with a centreline king-size berth topped with an upholstered headboard. The ensuite bathroom features custom marble vanities, a marble tile sole, a marble hot tub, a glass-enclosed marble shower, and high-end fixtures.
Below deck are four additional guest staterooms. Two VIP cabins have king-sized berths, and two guest cabins have twin berths - the starboard twin cabin can convert into a queen if needed. Each cabin includes an en suite bathroom with an enclosed shower. New AV systems, including iPad-enabled Crestron entertainment, have been installed throughout the guest areas, enhancing comfort and convenience.
The crew quarters are positioned aft for practicality and efficiency, with separate access to maintain guest privacy.
Performance & Capabilities
Powered by twin diesel MTU (12V 4000 M90) 2,735hp engines, motor yacht Antares is capable of reaching a top speed of 25 knots, and comfortably cruises at 19 knots. With her 9,900 gallon fuel tanks she has a maximum range of 2,000 nautical miles at 19 knots. Her semi-displacement hull design means she offers a great balance of space and speed.
