Delivered in 1986, Aventurer is a 25.91m motor yacht for sale built by Jongert. The yacht's elegant exterior design is by Sparkman & Stephens, while her interiors are the work of Peter Sijm.

Key Features

  • Dutch-built Jongert pedigree
  • Convertible media room
  • 3,000nm cruising range
  • Flybridge tender deck

Design & Construction

Designed around a full displacement steel hull and an aluminium superstructure she features a 6.96m beam and a 1.98m draft. The yacht is built over 2 decks with an internal volume of 120 GT (Gross Tonnes).

Exterior Design

The 26m (85ft) Aventurer is first and foremost a Dutch-built passagemaker with genuine ocean-crossing credentials. Built by Jongert with a steel hull and aluminium superstructure, her profile reflects long-range capability rather than fashion-led styling. The deep forefoot, pronounced bow flare and high freeboard are typical of serious cruising yachts designed to spend extended periods at sea, while the dark blue hull added during a 2020 repaint gives the yacht a sharper, more contemporary appearance.

Unlike many modern yachts of similar length, Aventurer prioritises deck utility and seakeeping. Wide side decks run the length of the yacht, protected by substantial bulwarks, while the raised wheelhouse provides excellent visibility and creates a distinct separation between operational and guest areas. The flybridge spans much of the upper deck and combines helm controls, lounging areas, dining spaces and tender stowage within a single practical deck. A 2,000lb davit serves the 20ft tender deck aft, allowing the yacht to carry substantial equipment for extended cruising.

The aft deck forms a major social area. Following the 2021 refit it gained a full wet bar, custom teak dining table for 12 guests, wine storage and a day head tucked neatly beneath the flybridge staircase. The arrangement allows entertaining on a scale normally associated with larger yachts, while retaining the robust construction and deck layout expected of a vessel designed for offshore passages.

Beneath the waterline, Aventurer remains very much a small ship. Five watertight bulkheads, commercial-grade construction methods and a hull structure verified by ultrasound testing in 2024 reflect the engineering standards that helped the yacht complete both Atlantic and Pacific crossings under her own power.

Interior Design

A $2 million refit completed in 2021 transformed Aventurer's interior while preserving the craftsmanship that made Jongert famous. More than 40,000 man-hours were originally invested in the yacht's joinery, and that heritage remains evident throughout the accommodation and wheelhouse areas. Rich timber cabinetry, deep window surrounds and traditional detailing provide a strong nautical character that differs markedly from the minimalist styling found aboard many contemporary yachts.

The main salon now combines this Dutch craftsmanship with a brighter and more open layout. Large windows bring natural light deep into the living spaces, while updated finishes, white countertops and lighter furnishings create a fresher atmosphere than the yacht's original interior. The salon flows naturally into a six-person dining area and a fully redesigned galley equipped with Wolf, Sub-Zero and Fisher & Paykel appliances.

Forward, the wheelhouse remains one of the yacht's defining spaces. Visible in the photographs, it retains a traditional ship-like character with extensive timber detailing, large forward windows and a watchkeeping settee alongside the helm. This is a wheelhouse designed for long periods underway rather than occasional coastal hops.

The 2021 refit also modernised the yacht's technology package. Starlink connectivity, upgraded entertainment systems, Garmin electronics and vessel monitoring systems bring contemporary capability to a platform originally conceived for global cruising.

Accommodation

Aventurer accommodates up to 10 guests across four staterooms, supplemented by a media room that converts into an additional queen cabin when required. This arrangement provides unusual flexibility for a yacht of her size, allowing owners to adapt the layout for family cruising, extended voyages or charter use.

The owner's suite spans the yacht's full beam and benefits from the generous proportions made possible by the 6.96m (22ft 10in) beam. Three additional guest cabins provide a mix of sleeping arrangements suitable for families and mixed guest groups, while the convertible media room creates valuable overflow accommodation.

Separate crew quarters accommodate two crew members and are positioned away from guest areas to maintain privacy during extended passages. The arrangement reflects Aventurer's original brief as a long-range cruising yacht capable of operating independently for extended periods.

Performance & Capabilities

Powered by twin diesel Caterpillar (3306 BTA) 250hp engines, motor yacht Aventurer is capable of reaching a top speed of 11 knots, and comfortably cruises at 9 knots. With her 11,356 litre fuel tanks she has a maximum range of 3,000 nautical miles at 9 knots making her well capable of long range and transatlantic voyages.
