Free Spirit is a 39.62m motor yacht delivered by American shipyard Westport Yachts in 2007. The yacht's exteriors have been penned by Gregory Marshall, while Westport Yachts has designed her interiors.
Design & Construction
Designed around a semi-displacement GRP hull and superstructure she features a 2.41m beam and a 0.61m draft. The yacht is built over 3 decks with an internal volume of 298 GT (Gross Tonnes).
This was the twenty-third yacht built on the Westport 130 design.
Exterior Design
Free Spirit is a Westport 130 motor yacht built in GRP with exterior lines by William Garden. The profile follows the raised pilothouse format typical of the Westport 130 series, with a long white hull, tiered deck structure and wide horizontal glazing along the superstructure.
The main deck carries large rectangular windows along the saloon while a line of oval portholes runs along the lower hull to serve the guest cabins. Wide side decks run forward toward the bow, providing safe access between the aft deck, foredeck and upper deck areas.
The main deck aft forms a large sheltered entertaining area beneath the overhang of the deck above, with space for outdoor dining and lounge seating. Above this, the upper aft deck provides another open-air social space connected directly to the skylounge.
Higher up, the flybridge offers additional seating areas and open deck space with elevated views across the surrounding waters. At the stern, the yacht carries a large swim platform positioned close to the water for easy access to tenders and water activities.
Interior Design
The interior of Free Spirit features a traditional Westport layout finished in mahogany joinery. The main deck saloon stretches across the beam of the yacht with large windows on both sides that bring natural light into the space.
Seating in the saloon includes a large L-shaped sofa to port with additional chairs and an ottoman arranged around a central table, while a games table sits to starboard beside the windows. Forward of the lounge, a formal dining area seats up to ten guests.
Above, the skylounge on the upper deck forms a second interior gathering space. This area includes lounge seating, a wet bar, an office area and entertainment systems, creating a more private living space separate from the main saloon.
A refit completed in 2019 included a full repaint, new teak decks, updated monitoring systems and upgraded audiovisual equipment, along with a refreshed galley fitted with modern appliances.
Accommodation
Free Spirit accommodates up to ten guests in five cabins.
The owner’s suite sits forward on the main deck and benefits from large windows that bring strong natural light into the cabin. The suite includes a king-size berth and an ensuite bathroom fitted with a large triple shower.
Four additional guest cabins are arranged on the lower deck and are accessed by a staircase from the main deck. Two VIP cabins feature king-size beds, while two further cabins provide twin berths. Each cabin includes its own ensuite bathroom.
Crew accommodation for up to 8 is arranged separately to support the yacht’s operation during private cruising or charter.
Performance & Capabilities
Powered by twin diesel MTU (12V 4000 M90) 12-cylinder 2,735hp engines, motor yacht Free Spirit is capable of reaching a top speed of 28 knots, and comfortably cruises at 24 knots. Her semi-displacement hull design means she offers a great balance of space and speed.

Free Spirit also features an inviting spread of sunpads and deck jacuzzi which provides excellent views.
