- Designed for circumnavigation
Design & Construction
Designed around an aluminium hull and superstructure she features a 11.51m beam and a 10m draft. The yacht has an internal volume of 471 GT (Gross Tonnes).
Exterior Design
The Nirvana Formentera yacht features a large flybridge, which serves as both a social and operational space. The flybridge offers unobstructed visibility from the helm, allowing for clear sight lines of the stern without leaving the twin wheels. Behind the helm are seating areas with sofas and tables, which can be configured for relaxation or dining. The flybridge is accessible via port and starboard steps from the aft deck, with controls to ensure safety and privacy through sliding panels.
The design integrates a centerboard system to achieve the owner's specified three-meter draught, allowing Nirvana Formentera to navigate closer to islands and find shelter in shallow anchorages. This centerboard is a key structural element, developed with high tensile steel for necessary stiffness.
On the main deck, the sheltered aft area benefits from the flybridge overhang, providing a space for guests to sit or dine comfortably, shielded from the elements.
Interior Design
Designed by Josep Juanpere Miret and the team at GCA Arquitectes Associats, the Nirvana Formentera yacht's interior is focused on comfort and functionality. The materials used throughout include dark African mahogany wood and leather-lined accents, which provide a warm, home-like atmosphere without sacrificing modern convenience.
The main saloon features a straightforward layout that encourages social interaction. A key design element is the toughened glass shelving unit that ingeniously transforms into a set of steps leading to the flybridge, highlighting the multifunctional nature of the space. This area also includes a 10-seat main dining table, offering ample room for group gatherings.
The saloon doors leading to the aft deck are fitted with pneumatic seals, and the stern garage door features a watertight compressed air seal, underscoring the yacht's emphasis on safety and efficiency.
Accommodation
The Nirvana Formentera provides comfortable accommodation for a total of 10 guests, featuring an owner's suite and four additional double cabins. The master suite is notable for its spacious design, including a bureau, full-beam sauna and rainfall shower.
For the crew, accommodation is designed to host 9 members, including a captain's cabin and four crew cabins.
Performance & Capabilities
The propulsion and energy systems are complemented by sophisticated hydraulic and sail handling equipment. This setup includes Reckmann headsail furlers and Marten Spars in-boom Leisurefurl gear, supported by a robust hydraulic system with over 95 functions. These systems are powered by pumps connected to the main engines, gensets, and an additional 400V AC powerpack, ensuring reliable and efficient operation under various conditions.
