Royal Yacht International (RYI), Italian Yacht Group (IYG) and Kitson Yachts announced the sale and will represent the buyer throughout the new-build program, remaining involved through construction and delivery. Project M is expected to be built at Lürssen's Bremen facility.
While much of Project M remains confidential, the first figures point to a yacht of considerable scale. The new Lürssen will measure more than 125m and exceed a gross tonnage of 6,000 GT, placing significant internal volume behind its 125m-plus length.
That volume will also see Project M enter the prestigious YachtBuyer YB100, which ranks the world's biggest yachts by gross tonnage rather than LOA. Lürssen already has a formidable presence near the top of the table, with 15,917 GT Dilbar, 15,850 GT Al Said and 14,785 GT Blue occupying the first three positions, while 13,136 GT Azzam currently ranks fifth. With the present YB100 entry point standing at 2,993 GT, Project M's confirmed volume of more than 6,000 GT would place her comfortably inside the ranking, although her eventual position will depend on her final GT and the fleet in 2032.
Espen Øino is responsible for the exterior design, while British studio RWD has been appointed for the interiors. Beyond the names of the design teams, imagery and further information covering the layout, accommodation, propulsion package and onboard amenities have not yet been made public.
Project M is being developed as a full-custom superyacht around the owner's requirements. Italian Yacht Group said further design and technical information will remain private at this stage. The May 2032 delivery date gives the project a lengthy development and construction window. With the sale announced in September 2026, the yacht is scheduled to remain within the build program for more than five years before handover.

Italian Yacht Group president Boomer Jousma said the company was proud to be involved in the motor yacht and pointed to the long-term commitment required for a build at this scale.
The arrangement places the three firms on the owner's side during a project that will extend well into the next decade, while Lürssen is expected to undertake the build in Bremen.
Project M also follows another major Lürssen sale announced in 2026. The 122.5m Project Elusive is under construction in Bremen and scheduled for delivery in 2030, with Moran Yacht & Ship overseeing that project on behalf of its client. Project Elusive has a reported volume of 5,500 GT and accommodation for up to 22 guests in 11 staterooms. Its exterior and interior designers have not been disclosed.
