Tankoa T720 Fenice is a 71.48m motor yacht due to be delivered by Italian shipyard Tankoa Yachts in 2030. The yacht's elegant exterior design is by Enrico Gobbi, while her interiors are the work of Giorgio Cassetta.
Design & Construction
Designed around a displacement steel hull and an aluminium superstructure she features a 11.9m beam. The yacht has an internal volume of 1,600 GT (Gross Tonnes).
The yacht was designed and constructed in compliance with the Lloyds Register technical standards.
Exterior Design
T720 Fenice has a very stretched profile for a 72m (236.2ft) yacht, with Enrico Gobbi's Team for Design using long horizontal lines to keep the superstructure visually tied to the hull. The bow is close to vertical, while the upper decks step back quite sharply as they rise, concentrating most of the visual weight around the middle and aft sections rather than building a tall wall above the foredeck.
The side-profile suggests that the yacht's identity will come less from one dramatic feature with several long bands running almost the full length of the superstructure, with their outer edges projecting beyond the glazing below. That should create deep overhangs and plenty of shade, while also making the individual decks read as part of one continuous form.
The forward half is particularly clean. A long, largely uninterrupted deck runs aft from the bow beneath the first major superstructure level, so the profile remains open and uncluttered despite the yacht's overall height. The upper decks are then pulled progressively farther aft, which gives Fenice a more athletic stance than a conventional upright 70m tri-deck.
Aft, the profile drops through several levels towards the water. The lowest structure appears to run close to the waterline before rising into the main hull, while the decks above extend progressively farther out over the stern. Although no layout has been released, the drawing clearly points towards a tiered aft arrangement rather than a simple vertical transom.
