Virginia Sea is an award winning 25.6m motor yacht for sale delivered by McMullen & Wing in 2005. Her naval architecture and exterior design comes from the drawing boards of Michael Peters, while Juan-Carlos Espinosa is responsible for her interior design.

Design & Construction

Designed around a planing aluminium hull and a GRP superstructure she features a 6.5m beam and a 1.1m draft. The yacht is built over 2 decks with an internal volume of 97 GT (Gross Tonnes).

Exterior Design

Virginia Sea measures 25.6m (84ft) in length and was built by McMullen & Wing in New Zealand. Her aluminium hull and composite superstructure reflect the shipyard’s reputation for building strong, efficient yachts with a smooth, quiet ride. The exterior design is sleek and streamlined, with a deep blue hull and contrasting white superstructure. Long side windows sweep aft beneath the low deckhouse, and the decks are arranged for relaxed, open-air cruising, with generous areas for lounging and movement fore and aft. Large glass doors open from the cockpit into the main saloon, and the sunroof above brings natural light through the deckhouse, connecting the interior and exterior spaces in a fluid way.

Interior Design

The interior of Virginia Sea was designed by Juan Carlos Espinosa, who created a custom environment rich in warm Sapele mahogany panelling. The joinery and detailing give the spaces a calm, nautical character, complemented by light upholstery and soft finishes that reflect natural light through the large glazing. The main saloon feels bright and airy, framed by its full-length glass windows to port and starboard and the broad windshield forward, which uses a single centreline mullion to maximise visibility. With the sunroof retracted and the side windows lowered, the saloon takes on the atmosphere of an open veranda while still sheltered from wind and spray.

Accommodation

Virginia Sea accommodates six guests in three comfortable cabins. The master suite is positioned forward and features a queen-sized bed with its own en-suite finished in white onyx. To starboard is a double cabin, and opposite to port a twin, each fitted with entertainment systems and private onyx-clad shower rooms. The combination of polished woodwork and light stone gives each cabin a warm, timeless quality.

Performance & Capabilities

Powered by twin diesel MTU (16V 2000 M91) 2,000hp engines, motor yacht Virginia Sea is capable of reaching a top speed of 39 knots, and comfortably cruises at 33 knots. With her 6,699 litre fuel tanks she has a maximum range of 340 nautical miles at 35 knots. Her planing hull design means she is fast and efficient as she slices through the water.
