83m Feadship Superyacht Project Solent Arrives in Kaag for Outfitting

Feadship’s 83-metre superyacht Project Solent has entered a key stage of construction the next build phase, shifting to systems integration and interior fit-out as she progresses toward delivery in 2027.

The 83m Feadship superyacht Project Solent is a fully custom motor yacht currently under construction in the Netherlands, with exterior design by Malcolm McKeon Yacht Design, interiors by Mark Whiteley Design, and naval architecture by De Voogt. The yacht has a volume of 2,050GT and a beam of 13.6 metres, combining a streamlined profile with extensive structural glazing to create a modern long-range cruising platform focused on light, visibility, and strong indoor-outdoor connection.

Design & Exterior Concept

The exterior of the yacht is defined by a long, low profile with clean horizontal lines and a gently sloping stern, creating a sleek and contemporary overall form. Large expanses of glass are integrated throughout the superstructure, including full-height and curved panels that reduce visual mass while enhancing outward visibility and strengthening the connection between interior spaces and the surrounding environment.

This glass-centric approach extends across multiple decks, where structural glazing maximises natural light and uninterrupted views, a design direction increasingly visible across modern yachts for sale.  Aft deck spaces are arranged across several stepped levels, forming a sequence of outdoor areas for dining, lounging, and relaxation, with inset glass bulwarks maintaining clear sightlines throughout and reinforcing a design focused on openness and continuity with the sea.

While interior layouts have not been disclosed, the overall configuration suggests a balance between sociable exterior zones and more private areas likely positioned forward.

Confirmed onboard amenities are centred around outdoor living and guest comfort, including a beach club and tender garage, alongside a jacuzzi, bar, and multiple areas for dining and relaxation, reinforcing a layout designed for both social use and extended time onboard. Stabilisation systems are incorporated to ensure comfort both underway and at anchor, while features such as a bathing platform, sunpads, and outdoor shower enhance the yacht’s connection to the water. Onboard systems are designed to support extended cruising, with air conditioning, satellite communications, Wi-Fi, and integrated entertainment throughout.

Build Progress & Technical Details

Constructed with a steel hull and aluminium superstructure, Project Solent is now positioned at Feadship’s Kaag facility as it transitions into the outfitting phase. This stage will see the installation of propulsion systems alongside electrical and mechanical infrastructure, as well as the completion of interior spaces, making it one of the most technically complex phases of the build, particularly within the segment of large custom motor yachts for sale.

Performance specifications have not yet been disclosed.

Builder & Market Context

Project Solent forms part of Feadship’s current portfolio of large fully custom yachts under construction in the Netherlands, reflecting the yard’s continued focus on bespoke design and engineering at the upper end of the market where, demand for large custom builds and comparable superyachts for sale remains strong. The project progresses alongside several yachts approaching delivery, placing it within the builder’s active pipeline of large-scale builds.

Recent output in the 80-metre range includes the 83m superyacht Vanish III, while the 80m superyacht Thalassa provides a comparable example of a recent custom build. Ongoing development of slightly smaller projects is reflected in the 72m Feadship superyacht 719, highlighting the breadth of the yard’s current construction programme.
