First Sunseeker 134 Superyacht Arrives in Poole as Construction Reaches Major Milestone

The first 40m Sunseeker 134 Superyacht has arrived at the British builder's Poole shipyard, signaling a major construction milestone as work progresses toward the yacht's planned delivery in 2027.

Having completed the first major phase of construction at Sunseeker's Osprey Quay facility in Portland, Dorset, the Sunseeker 134 Superyacht was spotted making her way along the coastline under tow before reaching the company's dedicated superyacht facility in Poole.

From Portland to Poole: Sunseeker 134 Enters New Construction Phase

The journey to Poole follows several months of work at Sunseeker's Osprey Quay facility, where the 134's hull was molded and its main deck and superstructure were installed. A substantial amount of engineering work has also been completed, including the installation of the main engines, generators, propulsion shafts, propellers, stabilizers and principal hydraulic systems.

The yacht's underlying service infrastructure is now in place, with fuel, freshwater, graywater and blackwater systems installed throughout the vessel. Completing this work before the transfer allows the Poole team to concentrate on the next stage of construction.

Now housed within Sunseeker's dedicated Superyacht facility in Poole, attention turns to the areas where engineering meets artistry."

Inside the dedicated superyacht facility, work will focus on the wheelhouse, electrical infrastructure and remaining onboard systems, alongside the installation of bespoke cabinetry, furnishings and interior detailing. While the yacht's exterior structure is already recognizable, the coming months will see the interior take shape around the owner's individual requirements.

Extreme Black Hull Sets First Sunseeker 134 Apart

One of the most interesting details revealed in the latest construction update concerns the owner's decision to specify an Extreme Black hull finish. The dark color scheme will mark a departure from the lighter exterior treatment seen in earlier images of the 134, drawing greater attention to the yacht's long hull windows, angular superstructure and pronounced exterior lines.

Sunseeker has positioned the 134 as a highly customizable superyacht, with owners able to influence everything from materials and furnishings to lighting, joinery and aspects of the onboard arrangement. The first hull's distinctive finish offers an early indication of how different individual examples of the model could look once delivered.

The motor yacht has been commissioned by an experienced owner based on the West Coast of the United States, for whom the 134 represents a third Sunseeker purchase. The repeat commission also gives the yard an established client relationship as it moves into the final stages of outfitting.

First revealed at the 2025 Cannes Yachting Festival, the model secured its first sale ahead of boot Düsseldorf in January 2026. Construction began in March at Sunseeker's Osprey Quay facility, with the hull released from its mold in May during a two-crane lifting operation witnessed by the owner.

With the first hull now in Poole, testing is scheduled for April 2027, ahead of delivery to its American owner later that year. A second Sunseeker 134 has already been sold, establishing an early order book for the new superyacht series.

What's Next for Sunseeker? New Models Target 2029

The arrival of the 134 in Poole comes during a period of wider development for Sunseeker, following several announcements at the 2026 Cannes Yachting Festival. Among them was the new Sunseeker Manhattan 80 Mk 2, which revives a model name last used more than two decades ago. The new five-cabin yacht is scheduled for delivery in 2029, although full technical specifications have yet to be released.

Sunseeker also introduced the 86 Ocean Enclosed, a 26.17m (86ft) motor yacht featuring an enclosed upper deck with a Sky Lounge and wheelhouse, four guest cabins and a top speed of up to 26 knots. Further up the range, the builder unveiled its new 45M Superyacht concept, a roughly 440GT semi-displacement design scheduled to begin construction in 2027, with delivery targeted for 2029.

With the first 134 now entering its next construction phase, Sunseeker has an important delivery to complete ahead of its forthcoming larger-yacht projects.
