On Deck

The Bluegame BGX73 takes a different route to a usual 70-footer. Its defining feature is the beach club area right at water level, where most yards would stop at a bathing platform. The hydraulic platform lowers into the water and joins a fixed section that holds a passerelle doubling as steps up to the quay or down to the sea. You can stow a Williams 285 tender across the beam or a 395 lengthwise, with a built-in crane hidden within the bulwark for launch and recovery. When stowed, the crane becomes part of the bulwark line, making the stern look neat and unbroken.

Forward of the beach club is a raised cockpit, tucked under the overhang for shade and privacy. When stern-to on the quay, this spot feels discreet and sheltered, ideal for dining or reading while life goes on ashore. The table can seat a small group for dinner, and loose chairs can be added when needed.

From here, steps lead to the side decks and up to the bow. The foredeck is another outdoor gathering place with a dining table, long seating, and the option for a Bimini shade. It’s well-positioned for privacy when moored stern-to, facing away from the crowds. Storage runs along the bulwarks, and an extra fridge can be fitted here.

High above, a smaller upper deck offers sunbathing space with a wide view over the anchorage. There’s also access for servicing antennas and satellite domes.

Interior Accommodation

Stepping through the aft doors leads into a saloon positioned low to the waterline. The space feels calm and enclosed, ideal when you want a change from the glare outside. A deep sofa wraps around the port side with room for guests to relax or stretch out in front of the TV. Owners can configure this layout, choosing between a cinema-style setup or a rear-facing arrangement with an open view aft. Storage runs along the starboard side, with access panels for the air-conditioning and sound system.

A staircase links this lower lounge to the main deck above, while another stairwell leads forward to the owner’s cabin.

On the main deck, Bluegame has turned what would normally be a cockpit into an indoor saloon. Sliding glass doors enclose the space, giving a dining room feel while still opening wide on both sides for airflow. This is the major difference between the BGX73 and the BG74 - the 74 keeps this deck open, while the 73 turns it into an all-season lounge.

The galley sits forward on this level and comes fitted with a four-burner hob, oven, dishwasher, large fridge and freezer, and an extractor fan above. Storage is generous with lockers overhead and deep drawers under the counters. The area feels domestic in scale, and not just a token galley, with lovely counter space to prepare meals while under way.

Owner's Cabin

The owner’s cabin sits mid-ship, taking up the full beam. It’s a quiet and spacious suite with windows stretching along both sides. A desk or vanity sits to port, opposite a large walk-in wardrobe. The en-suite bathroom runs across the starboard side with double basins, a toilet, and a separate rainfall shower behind glass. The space is wide enough to move around comfortably even when both sides are in use.

A connecting door links this cabin directly to the lower guest area, handy for laundry runs or checking on family without having to climb through the main saloon.

Guest Accommodation

The forward VIP cabin carries a large island berth with storage below, a wardrobe, and an en-suite shower room. Natural light from the hull windows gives it a bright, even tone. Aft of this lies a twin-berth guest cabin with two single beds, side storage, and another en-suite that also serves as the dayhead. Big windows sit just above the waterline, giving guests a clear view out.

Laundry machines are fitted nearby in a dedicated utility space, with room for a separate washer and dryer or a combination unit with extra linen storage. The connection between this area and the owner’s suite makes day-to-day use straightforward.

Crew Accommodation

Accessed through a hatch in the aft deck, the crew cabin sits beneath the cockpit. There are two berths, though most owners will use it as a single-crew or skipper’s cabin with the second bed for storage. It has its own toilet and shower, good headroom, and a neat finish. For many BGX73 owners this cabin would just double as overflow accommodation.

Performance

A hydraulic hatch in the aft deck opens to reveal the engine bay. Daily access is through a smaller central hatch for checks and maintenance. The BGX73 runs on twin Volvo Penta IPS1350s delivering 1,000 horsepower each, with IPS1200s available as an option. Expect around 30 knots flat out and a mid-20-knot cruising speed, giving roughly 300 miles of range. Drop the pace and the range will extend significantly.

The installation is clean and accessible, with wide space between the engines for standing headroom and clear sight lines to the pods. The generator sits outboard, and a Garmin camera feeds live visuals to the helm display for remote checks.

Ownership Considerations

For new buyers, the Bluegame BGX73 comes with the kind of backup you’d expect from a yard tied to Sanlorenzo. Each boat carries a factory warranty that typically covers hull, structure, and onboard systems, supported by Sanlorenzo’s international service network. That network is one of the most established in Europe, with authorised centres across the Med, the UK, and the US, so wherever you end up, there’s likely someone trained to deal with it.

Servicing revolves around the twin Volvo Penta IPS1350 drives. Those pods need annual oil and filter changes, anode checks, and software updates. The same goes for the hydraulic systems that power the beach platform and built-in tender crane. Most owners will have the yard or a Sanlorenzo agent handle the first few services to keep warranty conditions clean.

Resale value looks promising as the BGX73’s layout is still rare - few yachts of this size put the main saloon down at water level, and the Sanlorenzo connection helps when it’s time to sell. Just keep the service book stamped, the paintwork clean, and the systems fresh.

Rivals worth considering are the Pardo E72, that offers a more traditional open-plan layout with IPS and easy Mediterranean handling, and the wallywhy100 pushes bold architecture and glass-wrapped design for owners who want something unapologetically modern.

In Summary

The Bluegame BGX73 rethinks how a 70-foot yacht uses its volume. By pushing the main living area down to water level and linking each deck through easy stair routes, it delivers a strong sense of connection between inside and out. Whether run by an owner-operator or with a skipper aboard, it balances social spaces and seagoing ability with a distinctive design language rooted in Bluegame’s own logic rather than any convention.
