Xtender Solas Series is a unique range of tenders that offers all the advantages of a super yacht tender whilst also complying with the international SOLAS regulations as a rescue boat.
The custom Xtender 6.8m Solas was designed for the prestigious S/Y Aquijo; a 85m yacht by Oceanco and Vitters and is one of three tenders delivered for Aquijo by Xtenders. The tender is not only meant to be a rescue vessel but also a versatile, representative tender for daily routine and guest transfer.
Like all Xtenders, the 6.8m Solas is exceptionally light and durable. Being light allows it to quickly attain nearly 50 knots of top speed and also improves general manoeuvrability.
Being durable is essential for any tender, especially the one for rescue operations. Unlike other rescue tenders, our self-righting system is hidden in the engine box. The absence of a righting frame improves the weight, looks and storage height of the tender.
This tender has been extensively tested. The Xtender 6.8m Solas was fully operational during testing and was still running smoothly after passing the complete array of SOLAS required tests. Normally most other SOLAS rescue boats don’t make it through testing unscathed and are usually not fully equipped and operational during the tests.
