The 26.2m expedition yacht Tasman was delivered to her owners in 2007 by Carey. Her naval architecture and exterior design comes from the drawing boards of Richard McBride Design.

Key Features

  • Large swim platform
  • 2,800nm long-distance cruising range
  • Naiad stabilisers for smooth ride
  • Full-beam master with private access

Design & Construction

Designed around a semi-displacement wood/grp hull and a wood superstructure she features a 6.16m beam and a 2.1m draft. The yacht is built over 2 decks with an internal volume of 87 GT (Gross Tonnes).

Exterior Design

Tasman carries the look and capability of a global cruiser, underlined by her classic expedition profile and sturdy aesthetic. Her pale blue hull and white superstructure create a refined visual contrast, while a flared bow enhances seakeeping and stability in open waters. Teak decks run throughout, reinforcing her hardy, ocean-ready character.

The aft deck is a practical space fitted with shaded seating - well suited for relaxed dining or lounging. Up top, the flybridge is a flexible social area featuring sofa-style seating wrapped around a dining table, an upper helm station, and a barbecue setup to aft. A retractable bimini provides cover when needed. The tender area, served by a dedicated crane, doubles as an expansive sunbathing zone when the tender is deployed.

At water level, Tasman features a large, stepped swim platform that offers easy access to the sea. It also serves as a casual beach club-style area - a seamless extension of her relaxed, adventure-oriented ethos.

With a 2,800-nautical mile range, Tasman invites serious exploration without compromise

Interior Design

The interior of Tasman is warm-toned and practical, tailored for extended voyages. Teak finishes throughout offer a grounded, classic feel, complemented by neutral-toned carpets and light-coloured panelling that reflect natural light and keep the space bright. Large windows in the main saloon draw in sweeping views and daylight, contributing to the yacht’s breezy, beach house-like ambiance.

Inside, the main saloon features a large lounging sofa with a coffee table and formal dining for six. The design encourages both relaxation and sociability, aided by the uninterrupted sightlines to the sea on either side.

The galley is well-equipped and homey, fitted with black marble countertops, stainless steel trim, wooden cabinetry, an induction hob, oven, and all modern appliances. It’s a space that feels as functional as it does inviting - designed for serious cruising but still comfortable for long stays aboard.

Accommodation

Tasman accommodates up to eight guests across four cabins, with additional space for three crew members in separate quarters to maintain privacy and service efficiency.

The full-beam owner’s suite is positioned aft on the lower deck and accessed via a private staircase from the main saloon. This secluded layout also provides direct access to the swim platform - a rare feature that links the master cabin to the outdoors in an unusually fluid way. The suite includes a private en suite bathroom and is set apart from the guest and crew areas for enhanced privacy.

Forward on the lower deck are the guest accommodations: a VIP stateroom to starboard with an en suite, a port-side cabin with twin bunks, and a third cabin forward that can be used for guests or crew, offering three berths and its own en suite. All guest cabins are fitted with private bathroom facilities.

Crew accommodation is located separately, with space for up to three crew members - ensuring a discreet and professional onboard presence.

Performance & Capabilities

Powered by twin diesel Yanmar (6HAM-DTE3) 330hp engines, motor yacht Tasman is capable of reaching a top speed of 14 knots, and comfortably cruises at 10 knots. With her 8,998 litre fuel tanks she has a maximum range of 2,400 nautical miles at 10 knots. Her semi-displacement hull design means she offers a great balance of space and speed.

Step aboard Tasman’s flybridge and discover a flexible space for dining, relaxing, and navigating.
