Launched in 2018 to coincide with Ocean Week in Monaco, La Belle Classe YCM Explorer Awards look to recognize motor yacht owners who proactively take steps to assist in taking care of the environment.
Held annually in March, the YCM Explorer Awards are presented by the President of the Monaco Yacht Club, HSH Prince Albert II.
Launched in 2018, La Belle Classe Yacht Club Monaco (YCM) Explorer Awards pride themselves in recognizing Owners who take their environmental responsibilities seriously and have made commitments to protecting the marine environment, whether by their yacht’s design or navigation systems.
Normally scheduled as a climax of a one-day Environment Symposium during Ocean Week, the event is organized by the YCM and usually presents around five awards. Criteria for each award surround the Owner’s conception of their superyacht, how they use it, and the difference it can make to the environment.
Awards are presented during an exclusive ceremony, with the YCM Explorer Awards coming under these main categories:
Previous winners from the La Belle Classe Explorer Awards (Y.C.M.) include 109m (358ft) superyacht BRAVO EUGENIA for the Adventure / Ethics / Environment category in 2019, the eye-catching 80m (262ft) motor yacht ARTEFACT for Technology/Innovation in 2022, and 68m (222ft) luxury yacht ARCHIMEDES for Science and Discovery in 2024.
