Developed by Studio De Voogt under the direction of senior designer Jan Schaffers, Hive measures 115m in length with a 17.5m beam. The concept is being presented privately to invited guests at the House of Feadship during the Monaco Yacht Show, where a scale model provides a closer look at the design.
Created around the imagined lifestyle of a family of four, Hive departs from conventional superyacht layouts by placing shared experiences at the center of its design. Its proposed technical package also explores alternative fuels, battery power and an unconventional propulsion arrangement.

Feadship Hive Introduces a New Approach to Superyacht Living
The most distinctive feature of Hive is its enormous central gathering space, which extends across four decks and provides the architectural foundation for the entire yacht.
On the main deck, the space can function as an expansive salon, performance stage or auditorium, with terraces opening on either side. Curved staircases lead to balconies and smaller lounges overlooking the main space, while dedicated service facilities, furniture storage and a green room support everything from family gatherings to large-scale entertainment.
The concept emerged partly from Feadship's involvement with the Young Designer of the Year competition, which saw six finalists work alongside Studio De Voogt's designers in the Netherlands.
Inspired by the social character of Parisian salons during the 1930s, the design places particular importance on creating an environment where guests can gather for conversation, entertainment and cultural activities.

According to Feadship, the objective was to reconsider the traditional arrangement of living spaces aboard large yachts, allowing owners and guests greater freedom in how they spend their time.

Beyond its central gathering space, Hive introduces several unusual onboard amenities. The owner's deck features a 20m swimming pool equipped with Feadship's patented ContraWave technology, designed to control water movement. The pool extends indoors, where its suspended, glass-bottomed infinity section forms another striking architectural feature.
Closer to the water, a two-story beach lounge leads to a waterfront dining area capable of accommodating at least 24 guests. An underwater observation lounge provides views beneath the surface, offering guests another perspective on their surroundings.
Forward, a circular, glass-enclosed library opens onto a secluded garden, creating a quieter retreat away from the motor yacht's principal entertainment areas. An observation lounge with a retractable glass roof completes the arrangement, offering uninterrupted views of the night sky.
Feadship Hive Introduces a Virtual Bridge and Innovative Exterior Design
Hive introduces a new exterior direction for Studio De Voogt, with a long, low profile, extensive glazing and integrated terraces. Rather than adopting a conventional wheelhouse arrangement, the concept features a virtual command center that relies on cameras and sensors to provide navigational information.
Retractable glass wing stations allow the crew to maintain direct external visibility during close-quarters maneuvering, while the alternative bridge arrangement frees up the forward sections of the superstructure for the owner's accommodation and observation lounge.
The resulting profile follows design principles previously explored in Feadship's Pure and C concepts, where alternative navigational arrangements created opportunities to reconsider traditional superyacht architecture. Large sections of glazing extend across the superstructure, while the yacht's terraces are incorporated into the exterior rather than appearing as separate additions to each deck.
How Feadship Hive Could Achieve a 9,500-Nautical-Mile Range
Despite its conceptual status, Hive has been developed with technical feasibility in mind. Feadship's naval architects and engineers worked alongside the design team, using existing technologies and systems currently under development.
The proposed propulsion package features a DC electrical architecture supported by three 900kW variable-speed generators operating on hydrotreated vegetable oil (HVO), alongside fuel-cell technology and a substantial lithium-ion battery installation.
The 5MWh battery bank offers approximately five times the capacity of the pioneering 1MWh installation aboard Feadship's Savannah, within a comparable battery-room footprint. Feadship has outlined two fuel-cell configurations: seven 75kW solid oxide fuel cells or nine 250kW proton exchange membrane fuel cells with a methanol reformer.
Hive would use Voith Schneider Propellers for precise maneuverability, reduced noise and dynamic positioning, with a proposed top speed of 16 knots and a range of up to 9,500 nautical miles on HVO or 5,000 nautical miles on methanol at 12 knots.
Feadship's Latest Superyacht Launches, Deliveries and Projects
Hive's unveiling follows a busy year for Feadship - according to YachtBuyer MarketWatch, the largest yacht database in the world, Feadship currently has 17 yachts either in build or on order. In July, the Dutch builder delivered the 101m Destiny, featuring a glass-bottomed swimming pool and foredeck helipad, alongside the 90m Milky Way, whose 16.7m swimming pool is among the largest ever installed aboard a Feadship.
More recently, the yard launched the 80m Feadship 716, scheduled for delivery in 2026, while construction continues on the 83.3m Project 832, whose steel hull emerged in August ahead of an anticipated late-2027 delivery.
Hive offers a glimpse into Feadship's future design direction, continuing a series of experimental superyacht concepts developed by the Dutch builder since 2006.
