Delivered in 1998, Attessa is a 68.58m motor yacht built by Dutch shipyard Feadship. Her interior design and exterior styling comes from the drawing boards of Glade Johnson Design, while De Voogt is responsible for her naval architecture.

Design & Construction

Designed around a displacement steel hull and an aluminium / grp superstructure she features a 11m beam and a 3.5m draft. The yacht has an internal volume of 1,289 GT (Gross Tonnes). The design also incorporates a heli-pad.

The yacht was designed and constructed in compliance with the Lloyds Register technical standards.

Exterior Design

Attessa has the balanced proportions of a large late-1990s Feadship, but much of the yacht seen today was shaped during Dennis Washington’s extensive rebuild. The superstructure was reworked and the hull was extended by around 6.4m (21ft), creating a longer, more flowing profile with a dark navy hull, broad white upper works and several aft decks stepping down towards the water.

She has a dark navy hull with a fine bow, long sheer and a white superstructure arranged in several flowing tiers. Large dark windows cut through the upper works, while the deck edges curve aft rather than ending abruptly, which helps disguise the height of the yacht.

The extension is particularly important aft. Instead of reading as an obvious add-on, the stern now carries a sequence of guest decks that step down towards the water. The lowest level includes a spa pool and broad bathing area, while the decks above provide sheltered seating and dining before reaching the helicopter deck.

That helipad is one of Attessa's defining features. It sits within the upper aft deck rather than on a detached platform, and the photographs show how much deck remains around it. When the helicopter is away, the surrounding teak deck, seating and spa area still function as part of the guest space rather than becoming dead operational territory.

Interior Design

Glade Johnson Design gave Attessa a very formal interior, closer to a grand private residence than the pale, minimalist spaces now common on large yachts.

The main saloon uses marble, patterned stone and richly upholstered furniture, with a grand piano occupying one side of the room. A large circular marble medallion anchors the centre, while the ceiling repeats the same geometry above it. The symmetry is quite deliberate and gives the room a strong sense of order.

There is also much more colour and decoration than on a contemporary Feadship. Striped curtains, classical chairs, carved furniture and darker timber all sit against cream walls and ceilings, so the interior feels warm and established rather than deliberately neutral.

The rebuild was much more than a decorative refit. Glade Johnson reworked the internal arrangement along with the superstructure, so the spaces aboard today were conceived as part of Washington's Attessa project rather than simply updated versions of the original Lady Aviva rooms.

One of the more unusual areas sits high in the yacht: a multi-purpose room beneath a glass dome, centred on a Chihuly chandelier. It gives the upper deck a proper interior destination rather than leaving the top of the yacht entirely to open-air use.

Accommodation

Attessa offers accommodation for up to 10 guests in 5 suites. She is also capable of carrying up to 15 crew onboard to ensure a relaxed luxury yacht experience.

Performance & Capabilities

Motor yacht Attessa is capable of reaching a top speed of 16 knots, and comfortably cruises at 13 knots. With her 140,000 litre fuel tanks she has a maximum range of 5,758 nautical miles.
