The 27.03m motor yacht Marlin was delivered to her owners in 2023 by Italian shipyard Wally. She features exterior design by Luca Bassani Design and interior styling by Vallicelli Design.
Design & Construction
Designed around a semi-displacement GRP hull and superstructure she features a 7.66m beam and a 2m draft. The yacht is built over 2 decks with an internal volume of 199 GT (Gross Tonnes).
Exterior Design
Marlin is a semi-displacement WallyWhy200 series yacht, with an innovative design for its class. Its futuristic styling and high axe bow, known as the “wow bow” by Wally, provide a volume greater than that of a full-displacement yacht of similar length, under 24m/78ft.
The high bow results from designing the yacht from the hull up. Ferretti’s technical office worked alongside UK-based Laurent Giles Naval Architects on a composite hull form that both lifts like a planing hull and displaces like a displacement yacht. The bow, standing over 4.5m/15ft above the waterline, allows the yacht to cut through waves and maintain high cruising speeds even in rough conditions.
Marlin features a glass bridge, a wide-body lounge, and a shaded aft terrace on the upper deck. It also includes a transformer-style swim platform, two side-opening garages on the main deck aft for tenders and water toys, and fold-down bulwarks that expand the beach club area.
Interior Design
The interior design of the yacht Marlin, curated by Loro Piana Interiors, showcases a blend of textures and materials, offering a harmonious sensory experience. A light and neutral color scheme dominates the living spaces, accentuated by hints of ginger and sand tones.
A striking feature of Marlin's interior is the single-piece laminated carbon staircase, seamlessly connecting the three decks while maintaining structural integrity and enhancing the open space of the expansive 61sq/m living area.
In the owner's stateroom, a three-colored jacquard Antalya cotton and viscose pattern graces the headboard, complemented by decorative cushions crafted from undyed cashmere. Linen sofas feature elegantly printed cushions.
Guest staterooms echo the jacquard texture theme, creating a play of light and shadow, with custom-made blankets and accessories.
The entertainment area boasts jacquard textiles in the dining space, accompanied by a large round dehors rug, while semi-transparent linen curtains accentuate the glazed bow. Connemara linen upholstery graces the made-to-measure sofa and Ginza armchairs, complemented by a soft Merino wool rug.
On the upper deck, furniture and fabrics are resilient to salt, sunlight, and wind, with a neutral palette punctuated by ginger accents on armchairs and stools. Mahogany wood with a dark finish, featuring "white soles" underfoot, adds a touch of elegance to the furnishings, alongside custom pieces by Exteta, including tables, stools, and benches. Delight Chairs furnish both the upper deck and the beach club.
Accommodation
Marlin offers accommodation for up to 8 guests in 4 suites comprising an owners cabin located on the main deck, 1 VIP cabin and 2 double cabins. She is also capable of carrying up to 5 crew onboard to ensure a relaxed luxury yacht experience.
Performance & Capabilities
Powered by 4 x diesel Volvo Penta (D-13 IPS) 1,350hp engines, motor yacht Marlin is capable of reaching a top speed of 21 knots, and comfortably cruises at 17 knots. With her 12,000 litre fuel tanks she has a maximum range of 1,000 nautical miles at 10 knots. Her semi-displacement hull design means she offers a great balance of space and speed.
