Absolute Vedetta 84 Flagship and New 62 Fly Motor Yacht Revealed at Cannes

Absolute Yachts has previewed two major additions to its range for 2027, revealing the new 62 Fly and the 84-foot Vedetta 84 during the Cannes Yachting Festival 2026.

The announcements form part of a broader change at the Italian builder, which used its Cannes press conference to introduce a refreshed brand identity under CEO Alessandro Tirelli alongside its future product program. The 62 Fly is expected to arrive in spring 2027, while the Vedetta 84 is scheduled for September and will become the largest yacht in the Absolute fleet.

Vedetta 84 Introduces a New Absolute Flagship

Sitting above the Absolute Flybridge and Absolute Navetta ranges will be the Vedetta 84, a completely new yacht and the first Absolute to carry the Vedetta name.

Absolute selected the Italian word "Vedetta" for its nautical meaning, referring to the lookout positioned high on a vessel to watch the horizon. The name also relates directly to the yacht's architecture. The Vedetta 84 will be a wide-body raised pilothouse yacht, giving the helm an elevated position and establishing a layout that sits outside Absolute's existing Fly, Coupé and Navetta families.

Few technical details have been released, but Absolute has confirmed a five-cabin configuration, something the builder considers unusual at this size. A large garage will also have room for two water toys. According to YachtBuyer MarketWatch, the first Vedetta 84 has already been sold, with two further units under negotiation with existing Absolute clients. Tirelli also referred to production capacity as a consideration as interest in the project develops.

The yacht will move Absolute into a new size bracket. Its present flagship, the 22.82m Navetta 75, accommodates eight guests in four cabins and has sat at the top of the range since its introduction. YachtBuyer awarded the Navetta 75 five stars following its test, putting the yacht into the prestigious YachtBuyer Hall of Fame. The YachtBuyer review highlighted its interior volume, deck spaces and practical cruising credentials.

New Absolute 62 Fly Expands the Open Cockpit Concept

The new 62 Fly develops an approach first introduced aboard the current Absolute 60 Fly, which made its public debut at the Cannes Yachting Festival in 2021. That yacht removed fixed furniture from the aft cockpit and used glass balustrades to create a more open terrace overlooking the water.

Five years later, Absolute is pushing that idea further. The new 62 Fly will have an open cockpit measuring more than 15 square meters, giving owners considerable freedom over how the aft deck is arranged. Above, Absolute says its 30.1-square-meter flybridge will be the largest found on a yacht in its segment.

This will be the only yacht in the 60-foot segment with what we like to call two owner’s cabins, with the VIP offering the same size and finish as a proper master suite."

Accommodation is another significant part of the new layout. Absolute says the flybridge yacht will be the only model in the 60-foot segment to offer what it describes as two owner-level cabins. The main master suite will be joined by a large VIP that the builder refers to as a second master, with similar dimensions and the same standard of finish.

The 62 Fly name itself is not new. The yard previously produced the first-generation Absolute 62 Fly between 2019 and 2023, with that earlier yacht measuring 18.65m and carrying guests across three principal cabins. The 2027 project therefore marks the return of an established model name, but with a substantially revised layout and a stronger focus on the open-cockpit format.

The two 2027 announcements follow an active year for Absolute's existing range. Eleven yachts are on display at Cannes 2026, including three world premieres from the Navetta family - the Navetta 50, Navetta 58 and Navetta 66.
